Adium is one program that has constanly failed on me. I've re-installed it, deleted folders and files and done everything possible and even with only 1 account (myspaceim) signed on it will freeze up and just hang. It only does it with the latest version which has the myspaceim feature that the previous versions did not.
why would u use parallels boot camp is way better well i think so i have parallels and i hate it
Forgive me if this has been mentioned before, but a lot of my established screen savers don't work under Leopard.
I went from a G3 to an Intel iMac, and most of them stopped working. I get an error message that they are incompatible with this version of OS X, and to please contact the software maker for an update.
Now, I know you're thinking that the reason might be that they were made for very old computers like my G3. But one screen saver is copyrighted 2007, so it can't be that behind the times.
I tried to reinstall that screen saver from the software maker's site, but got a -5000 error message.
I know these are just screen savers, but one in particular is actually a cute mini-app that my granddaughter loves, a children's game. I'd love for her to be able to continue to play it.
So obviously the screen savers in question weren't universal. Thanks for clearing that up for me.Screen savers don't run under rosetta so they have to be intel screen savers for them to work. This has nothing to do with 10.5 but everything to do with intel vs ppc.
Sheepshaver?????
Or, do you have another method? I'd be interested in options more like the classic integration.
Yes i used sheepshaver.do you use sheepshaver ?
I haven't had very good luck with OS 9 (I only have disks for 9.2 and 9.2 isn't supported by sheepshaver the last time I looked....a few months ago)

I curently have 10.3.9 with a PowerPC G4 w/ dual 1.25 processors and 2 gig of ram. I want to upgrade to 10.4 - will it be compatibe with my software which is:
Quark 6.5
Acrobat 7.1
Acrobat Distiller 7.0
Illustrator CS1
Photoshop CS1
AND
Microsoft Office (Microsoft Office X)
I really can't afford to go buy all the software again and I don't want my system to crash or apps not to work. Any suggestions?
This upgrade is mostly spawned due to the recent purchase of a new iPod Nano... Not supported by my current OS! Man, I didn't read the requirements, shame on me. However, the dang thing will work on my kid's PC w/ XP Pro. I only got the Nano cause it's mac - he wanted the Zune that ONLY works w/ PC... Waa!!
Anyway - any suggestions on an upgrade?
Thanks,
Uphype
Apparently Cisco's VPN client will not work with Leopard, meaning anyone who relies on that will have to wait for Cisco to release an update.
EDIT: On further consideration, this might not be true. My University posted a warning that the VPN client wouldn't work with Leopard (just as the old version didn't work with Tiger), but they have removed that warning from their site now.
I'm not sure about Quark, but the Adobe stuff should be fine. You could go the long route, and install 10.4 on another hard drive, and install your apps from there. That way you won't disrupt your current workflow.
