PeerGuardian 1.5b1 is working on 10.5.4 for me. And when I say working, I mean it appears to be blocking a number of connections. Specifically, if I have filters enabled, I can't play WoW. 🙁
I've been using Adium for a while now on Leopard, no problems. I've used it with Yahoo, AIM, and Google Talk. Probably the MySpace IM support is busted.
You're entitled to your own opinion. The main reason people use parallels is because they can run their Windows (or Linux) apps right by their Mac apps. They don't have to dedicate themselves to just one OS at a time, and they don't have to reboot back and forth all the time.
Granted, for gaming, Boot Camp is much better, as the games detect the actual hardware, and run better because of it. Also, DirectX support is limited in both Parallels and VMware right now, but they're making progress. Before the 256 color patch (hack?) came out for Mac Pros, and I got a nostalgia kick to play Diablo 2, I had to play it through Parallels because I couldn't run it on my Mac Pro natively.
Adium is one program that has constanly failed on me. I've re-installed it, deleted folders and files and done everything possible and even with only 1 account (myspaceim) signed on it will freeze up and just hang. It only does it with the latest version which has the myspaceim feature that the previous versions did not.
