Does anyone have experience of whether Adobe (Macromedia) Director MX (i.e. Version 9) will work under Leopard? Adobe do not make any definite statement on their web-site - although there is a mention of possible issues. I appreciate that I really need to upgrade to Director 11 when it is released, but that needs an Intel based Mac, and I am still using a G4 desktop.

I can only say that Director MX 2004 does. Perfectly well infact. I have no reason to suspect why Director MX wouldn't either.

Why not just install it and try?

Thanks. The reason I was asking was to help me decide the potential total cost implications of upgrading to Leopard. I have identified the other applications which I would have to upgrade. Director was the last in my list and I don't have access to Leopard to give it a try.

Tomtom Home App 2.2 Does Work!!!

use the original version of TomTom Home from the cd - install.
when done, update the device from 6.x to 7.x and higher.
upon finish, Home will request an update for itself, i.e. 2.2 - do it!
voila, you have a working device! :apple:

I don't have enough posts to edit the list, so please
add TomTom Home to the list.

Neither the current nor the prior release of the software works properly with 10.5.1. In order to use my GO 720, I have to hook it up to my PC.

may one ask what exactly 'volume logic' is?

It is an add-on EQ for itunes that was bought my plantronics. As wonderful as this product is, customer support by plantronics is equally horrible. It is not supported by Leopard, although it still works in some cases. Plantronics will not lift a finger to troubleshoot or help, even for registered owners like me.

An add on for iTunes, it acts as a multi-band compression/limiter/AGC unit with multiple musical styles presets, and some bass level adjustments.
Its GUI is pretty straight forward and makes it easy to set up for the best experience. I guess it can be compared with SRS iWow (i never tried it) and OSS3D (amazing for the amounts of different ways to tweak the soundspace it offers).
Unfortunately the developer has suspended the distribution of that nice add-on, but just after releasing v1.3.2, Leopard compatible.
The downloads links are broken on most of the regular hosting websites (Version Tracker, Softpedia...) but the MacUpdate’s one is still running; it’s an update, though, and not the demo as it used to be on former releases.

My Epson 2450 scanner will not integrate with Photoshop in Leopard 10.5.2.
I used to be able to access it from inside Photoshop as an import option but now I must use the standalone scan interface, save work and then go to Photoshop to continue work.

Anything on Sibelius or Finale?

When I bought Sibelius, Tech Support told me that it doesn't yet work on Leopard. Any news on this front? I haven't heard about Finale at all, but it may have similar issues. For the time being, I'm sticking with OS X.

Unsanity have finally posted some beta that work on Leopard

This has been the most helpful thread.

Let me add to the help-full-est by pointing out that Unsanity has posted betas of a number of their products.

The betas themselves are at:

I personally downloaded and am using
Application Enhancer (APE), FruitMenu and WindowShade.

All are working quite nicely.

Sequential (ie, the best image viewer available for OS X) doesn't work as well on Leopard as it does on Tiger. When the image is full-sized, it scrolls smoothly but when it's constricted to fit by width, it scrolls somewhat jerkily if the image is naturally wider than the screen width.

Adium is one program that has constanly failed on me. I've re-installed it, deleted folders and files and done everything possible and even with only 1 account (myspaceim) signed on it will freeze up and just hang. It only does it with the latest version which has the myspaceim feature that the previous versions did not.

I have had zero problems with Adium. It might be the MyspaceIM client causing problems.

Hmmm......well I have some great news for the LocationFree Player, as they have released an update for LocationFree Player to work on Leopard. It was a bit of a challenge, since the page is in Japanese, but thanks to Google Language Tools, I was able to decipher the download.

And don't worry, it won't change the LFP to Japanese. :p

Enjoy:

Extremely long link
Not so long link

Thank you soooooooo much for this!!!! I've been freaking out about not being able to use my lfp with my mac

AcidSearch is actually at 0.7b3 (not 2) and has been for some time.

mail.appetizer has a Leopard beta as of March 26, 2008.

Apps that WON'T work on Leopard

Apparently Cisco's VPN client will not work with Leopard, meaning anyone who relies on that will have to wait for Cisco to release an update.

EDIT: On further consideration, this might not be true. My University posted a warning that the VPN client wouldn't work with Leopard (just as the old version didn't work with Tiger), but they have removed that warning from their site now.

There is actually a way around to fix it with Terminal, check it out
