i had forgot all about the other apps they have had and not updated.... smh

so it sounds like they submitted the app for approval but have no plans on launching it once it gets approved

That's what I was wondering too. I always thought that once apple approves it, it gets released

No, you can choose when to make it public after it is approved. Companies do this a lot to time the release with their announcement.

I'm thinking of burning the WhatsApp HQ... Seriously, almost 4 months since iOS 7 was seeded to developers and they can't update the app? :(

Why the rush? The app works fine.

Nope whatsapp has this UI(?) issues with the iPhone 5 ever since running on iOS7.

the bottom menu bar will stay on while youre in the conversation.. even if it goes, there will be an empty space between the keyboard and the text bar..

That's how I read it too. Crying shame that we pay for the app (and potentially again according to some rumours) and won't be given the date.

that's what turns most people off about them and also they have other apps that aren't cheap that people have paid for (calcbot, pastebot,) and haven't did anything with

Apple really needs to provide a way to do major version upgrades so they can be provided at a lower cost than having to re-buy the full version. App developers are not happy with this situation but Apple refuses to listen. And when they do create a new version so they can be paid for their work, they get upset users. It is a no win situation for developers.

About Tweetbot, they've submitted it, but that does not mean that the app is going to be released soon, so don't get your hopes up.

Oh really? I'm on a 5S and haven't noticed that at all. It wasn't present on my 4S either.

I'll have to look out for that.

^^^ I have noticed that too. I think it happens when I have a conversation open in background and I get a notification banner from a different convo and go through the banner to the app. It goes away when I go back to the convo list and back to write a reply. Not annoying but clearly a bug I hope gets fixed when they finally release the iOS7 update.

Tbh I think Whatsapp priority is with Android rather than iOS these days, Kitkat 4.4 is due to launch at the end of the month, and i bet you an update will be out for that before iOS 7 get's one.

It's the one thing i was really disappointing with when i switched from Android to iOS as i use Whatsapp alot, even paid for the app on Android because it was that good.

I've no doudt it get updated at some point, but i don't think it ever match the Android version.

Thats's the beauty and the rub of IOS. Being a locked down environment, all updates have to go through approval, so it can take time to get the latest out there, whereas Android doesn't have such restrictions and things can be posted much quicker for updates.

I would think approval would take a couple days at the most. I sure hope it's less than a week. (excluding holidays)

We would hope, but it also depends on if things are found in violations, then it is either just denied and the devs make adjustments and resubmit, or they go through an appeals process. If this happens then the process can take a lot longer. I remember a while ago there existed an issue with one of the Google apps (Google Voice I believe) and it being held up due to issues and appeals. Whatever it was it took forever for them to get it through he appeals/ approval process.
