I'm a her, and why? Re-read my posts, I was on your side. Jeez.

I'm sorry miss, I was being sarcastic. I did appreciate your posts though! Not to mention I was a bit curious about what other culture and Internet trivia you know. Sounds very interesting...

So no one has any idea why cracked iPhone apps update via AppStore but the ones on the iPad don't?

Maybe Apple have changed thecwas iTunes and apps are logged with each other in 3.2 as opposed to iPhones 3.1.3:confused:

That's the only thing I can think of.

Maybe in OS4 it'll be the same on all devices.

You can't update cracked apps through the AppStore. It will show that there is an update available as the iPad is recognizing the app is installed at 1.0 yet the AppStore has a version of 1.1 for the same app (example).

When you go to download any updates it will inform you that you need to have the proper original app to update it, and offer you to buy it or cancel.

The only way to update a cracked app is to wait till there is a cracked .ipa of the new version. Just check in the All Applications section in Installous when the AppStore is telling you there is an update and soon enough you will find the updated cracked app in there. Download it and install it and it will override the original you had and will clear from the Updates section of the AppStore.

Just think about it as Installous is your AppStore for cracked apps for everything including upgrades.

OP...you should know better. Reported

Oh lighten up Francis. I love when people get all self righteous behind the veil of their ISP. I would LOVE to see your hard drive. I am sure you don't have a single downloaded book, mp3 or movie that you didn't pay for, or any copyrighted photos in your wallpaper collection, right?

When you are test driving a car, you have no choice to bring it back. When you use appsync to "test" an app, you can just keep it and most do hence why it's piracy.

I also love how self righteous people toss out random statistics that are all but impossible to verify, like "most people do x,y or z".

THIS.

The holier than thou attitude when it comes to pirating apps made by "small developers" and having no problem when pirating a tv show, movie, or song because it comes from a big company is a joke.
