Excellent, seems like Apple, got a solid grip on their shipping timelines, looking at the order details posted here, and on the iPad 2 order tracker site
www.appleordertracker.com it seems that now they are shipping orders earlier than originally expected. That's great news ...

Mine got shipped 5 days earlier
 
Update, my 64gb black wifi, ordered around 6 pm pacific on 3/11, been in "prepared" for the last 2 days, just got a shipment notification. Originally said shipment by April 1st, e-mail says expected ship date is March 29th.

No info on where it is on the FedEx page. Shipment email says estimated delivery April 4th, while the FedEx page says April 1st. Who knows which is more likely.
 
FedEx attempted to deliver today, but I was not home. Drove to FedEx after work & I have been playing with my iPad since 5:00!

BTW, it came with a 100% full charge.

Just got the same notice. Fedex says April 1, Apple says April 4. Either way, glad it is finally on it's way.
 
Mine has been in Prepared for Shipment for about 48 hours now, hoping for the shipping notice anytime now. :)
 
Mine's been sitting on Lantau Island since Sunday morning. Delivery date still says Thursday though, so i'm not too worried. Wish it was making some progress though.

What state are you in? If it doesn't leave today and/or you are not near a fedex hub, you're likely getting your hopes up for a thurs delivery. Sorry
 
Well.... 3/11/11 order placed ~10AM EDT (7AM PDT), 3GB black wifi only. Delivered today!

My wife's order for my birthday was shipped over the weekend and a delivery attempt was made yesterday, but nobody was home. The original FedEx estimate had said Wednesday delivery, but it beat that by a couple days. I was able to work at home today to sign for it and another package we were expecting. FedEx guy said, "I've got something I think your wife is going to be excited about." Wife hid the unopened FedEx box. I guess I'm in for a long wait till my birthday. :'(

Prepared or shipment!

So over night the apple elves were apparently hard at work because this morning, my 64GB black AT&T engraved iPad ordered at 6:45am PST on March 12th was switched to Prepared for shipment.

I am so excited!

Got tracking #today- slow but steady progress...and still well within the promise date...
 
Mine is finally on the move, headed for Lantau Island after about 60 hours in PFS status. There's a light at the end of the tunnel, finally.

Was Apr 4 your original ship date or your updated ship date? I ordered my white 32GB wifi at noon pst March 12th.......no updated status for me. :( Still states ship date of April 11 and delivery of April 14. I don't know if I can hold out that long. All this news of orders from the 12th starting to ship is driving me crazy.......
 
Yeah, this experience has taught me a very important lesson —*ALWAYS ORDER FROM APPLE IMMEDIATELY.

For some reason I expected to find one in stock on launch day, and I also expected to be able to order it from Apple later on and still get it quickly if I didn't manage to get one. Wrong on both accounts.

Mine is still sitting in Alaska apparently. Still showing an estimated delivery of tomorrow in Michigan, however I'm mildly concerned that won't happen. Although, I'm trying to remember my 3GS and iPhone 4, and the route they took, and it might still be possible. We'll see. Just hope I get it by the weekend, but no matter what I'll get it well before I was supposed to based on estimates, so I can't complain. Lately I've been just using my iPad to track my iPad 2 shipment, so when I do get it, I probably won't have anything to do on it anyway. haha.

No, April 4th was my original ship date, hopefully it will now ship earlier (I am hoping for tomorrow).

I have been on shipping prepared from 28th 9:30am Pdt and still waiting for shipping notice from apple. How long do you have to stay here to get that thing moving to shipping?????:confused::mad:
 
Ordered my iPad on 3/11 around 5pm. Original ship date was 4/1. Actual ship date ended up being 3/24. Got it on 3/29 in NC directly from china.
 
Anyone else with a FedEx estimated delivery date of tomorrow with their iPad still showing as in Anchorage, AK? FedEx's dates are usually reliable, but I'm losing hope that it'll make it from Alaska to my house in less than 24 hours.
