Canada is shipping through about XX:17, hopefully because we have less orders, my April 25 order can come towards the beginning of what Apple set as 'June'!
Good luck.
Ordered 38 on 10th about 10 hours after launch and still have another 1-3 weeks. With this shortage, if prices are still high, I may try to sell it and buy a stainless since some models are shipping in under a week.
Prices are high, but not many are biting. I just sold my stainless steel and took a slight hit.
you sold an SS and lost money?
Yep...it was 38mm and wasn't a hot commodity.
Why didn't you return it, that's what I did
I too ordered on April 25th. Still says June. I IM'd apple this morning, this was their response..
If earlier availability opens up, then Apple will be the first to send you an email notifying you that your order will be shipped early.
June is the current availability right now and once your Apple Watch ships out, then you will receive your shipment notification email with your exact date and your tracking information for your order.
Based on other threads it looks like they're still shipping the black sports watch from April 10/11th orders. Will continue to be a long wait!
SG BSB order placed on 4/11. Still a vague "June" shipping date.
Beyond frustrated that it's been 5 weeks and still nothing.
FFS, even just an explanation as to what the hold up is would be nice.
I'm with ya on the vague June date.
But the explanation is pretty clear if your up to date on the news of the apple watch.
The amount of pre order sales was Insane. If they only filled roughly 22% of 2.3 million pre orders on launch day that gives a pretty good idea about how much they underestimated the watch. It took pebble an entire year to sell 740 thousand watches. Apple doubbled that in a few days.
The tactic engine I believe is the real issue. I think the pre orders would have been manageable had there been no issues with the watch. But since they had to go back & replace a good majority of finished watches that created a bottleneck in finishing & shipping the product in a timely fashion.
But. Now that things today seem to be progressing with a lot of people's orders being processed that ordered the 10/11th I think in the next few days we will start to see some serious progress in shipping & receiving the watch of all models.
Apple hasn't officially come out and said, "It's been 5 weeks since you preordered. We know you're excited but we hit a snag in production."
As for preorders, they should have known to make more than needed. They weren't selling them in retail stores, they were online only. Even if the watch flops, people will STILL buy them and hold onto them as legacy devices. Doesn't the advertising before hand to hype the product help estimate or project sales numbers? (I'm totally ignorant on this so if I'm wrong please let me know)
I don't doubt that the taptic engine is to blame, I know that slowed things down but IIRC that is one production facility out of how many? Granted, one production facility probably churns out a ton of watches.
I'm hoping in the next few days we see some HUGE fulfillment waves. It's just frustrating is all.
Thoughts on the vague "June" shipping label? I think they're underpromising so that they can over deliver. "Remember that time it was in June? It's now being shipped tomorrow!!"
