Have you tried switching which side the crown is facing? I’ve seen some people have the crown face towards their hand vs their arm.

I’ve been doing this for a while. Until I switched the crown, I had called 911 a few times!

I kept my S4 and am using my Ultra as my everyday watch. I switch the bands every 2-3 days and I even bought 3rd party Ultra bands since my Ocean and Alpine bands are starting to get dirty after 1 day of use for both bands. I’ve gotten use to the size of the Ultra and love it. Plus I need the temperature sensor on the Ultra for ovulation tracking, so I can’t use the S4 for sleep tracking anymore. I might just give it to my daughter to wear.

I sold my series 5 cellular for the ultra, and kept my series 6. I alternate between watches. I love the larger screen on the ultra, but some days I will wear my series 6, which is product red. I just love the color.

I’m looking forward to more bands. I have the starlight. I can’t wait to get more colors!!

It occurred to recently that I think it's been Apple's intention all along that the Ultra is meant to be a companion Apple Watch one would own along with a standard Apple watch. I've been really on the fence about upgrading to the Ultra from my SS S7 45MM. I think the Ultra looks amazing, but (A) I have really skinny wrists, and (B) Although I stay active and exercise 5x a week, I'm not a deep sea diver and I don't climb mountains. :) If I do end up buying the Ultra I can see myself hanging on to my SS7 and wearing the watch that's best suited to the occasion.

I've always only owned one AW, selling the old one each year and replacing with the new one.

This year I'm using the AWU as my daily watch and wearing the S7 SS to bed for sleep tracking.

It would be nice if apple allowed you to wear two watches when working out to get different measurements. For example wearing one on your leg and one on your wrist.

I've still got my S2 SS, but I used to use that when charging my Nike S6, which I did daily.

Now I have an Ultra, I haven't charged it in 2 days, so it's a bit of a moot point. I'll charge it at some point while I am at my desk and then I won't need the S2 anymore.

Bit of a shame, as it's a nice looking watch, but I simply don't require 2 watches any longer.

I decided to keep my S7 because the Apple trade-in offer sucked. Since that time, I have been wearing the S7 for sleep tracking and the Ultra during the day. This solved the overnight charging issue, and the S7 is more comfortable at night. The best of both worlds. I don’t know why I didn’t do this the last time I upgraded.

Every time I switch from one watch S 6 to the other S U, same load, the first few hours of usage drop very quickly.. is there some SIGNIFICANT syncing going on? I mean, it can’t be that that much actual onboard data has changed in the interim.

I think there's a lot of synching. My ultra battery was the same as my series 5 for a day or so. Now its sips power and its promise of 36 hr battery life becomes true.

I don’t plan to use my S4, but will keep it as insurance against being without a watch if something bad happened to my Ultra during a “Don’t Buy: Updates Soon” period.

Ultra being so pricey here $1299AUD like all apple gear, and being first new full price Apple Watch since the S4, sold my S7 cellular to a friend for $400 to ease the pain.

I kept my aluminum GPS only S7, the resale value is so weak it gives me an option if for any reason I want something lower profile or maybe to use as a "sleep" Apple Watch. So far in 2 weeks with the Ultra I've used it for sleep all but one night, the S7 on that night felt incredible like a feather on a sports loop strap but honestly, it isn't like the Ultra disturbs my sleep and it has the temperature sensing.

As an aside here is an usual thing that is seldom reported about temperature sensing and multiple watches. Currently with WatchOS 9, if you use two or more different watches that can both sense temperature (so currently the S8 and Ultra) the 5 day calibration period restarts when you switch between them. This is obviously bad, you essentially HAVE to pick a specific watch to sleep with an stick to that or you will constantly be resetting the temperature calibration and never get a temperature baseline reading. Right now very, very, very few people have a S8 AND an Ultra but as years go on it will be very likely that people with multiple Apple Watches will have multiple watches that also sense temperature so hopefully they address this annoyance.

I have a red series 6, and the ultra. I sold my series 5 and replaced it with ultra. I have 2, because the red doesn’t go with everything and doesn’t look good with too many other bands. I plan to get other bands for the ultra once they are more available. Right now my band is the starlight one. I usually upgrade every other year and keep the newer one and sell the other.

Series 8 45mm stainless steel for daily use & the Ultra for tracking my mountain biking plus I paddleboard a lot too.

Perfect combination for me.

Keeping my series 6 as a secondary watch. Mainly for more formal occasions. Trade in price isn't very attractive, so I figure I'm better off keeping it.

I have had the Ultra since launch and love it. Previously I was wearing the SS Series 7. Seeing how apple was only giving $155 for the SS Series 7, I just kept it. I reset it to factory settings and got it ready to sell on Swappa or some other site. Just never got around to it.

I have noticed quite a few people have multiple watches for whatever reason. For me, playing golf with the Ultra doesn’t work so well. My wrist bends in such a way that I keep taking screenshots accidentally. I figured maybe I can use the SS Series 7 for golf and for dressier occasions.

Anyone else using both watches? I only have cellular activated on the Ultra. I’m tempted to activate cellular on the SS Series 7 in case of emergency. Just curious what everyone else here is doing who decided to keep more than one watch.

I also understand to some people having more than one watch is crazy so no need for those comments. I get it.

You can contact emergency services on any cellular Apple Watch, even without paying for cell service. You just can’t get notifications, texts, or anything else like that.

Assuming I fully commit to keeping the Ultra, I’ll be keeping my Stainless Steel 41mm Series 7, too. I have a few nice bands, and it just goes better with dressier attire.

I’m definitely liking the Ultra much more than I expected.

For those of you using one watch for daily activities and one for sleep tracking, how are you managing charging? I’d hate to leave my S4 on the charger all day and my Ultra charging all night, but maybe that isn’t as hard on the battery as I think?

Turn on optimized battery charging and it will take care of it.

I originally got the Verizon 45mm Series 8, but then decided to try the Ultra from Best Buy and am in love with the ultra. I have until October 16th to return the Series 8 to Verizon with the restocking fee, but I have considered keeping the series 8 to wear sometimes as well. What do you all think? Return the series 8 or keep it? I prefer the look of the series 8, but the flat screen and usability/battery life of the ultra. I need to make a decision soon. Thanks in advance.
I have an Hermès watch which I love. I wear it only for dressy occasion where the ultra will not fit comfortably under a cuff. The ultra is by far my favorite watch. If it had the Hermès watch faces, it would be perfect. Two watches is really unnecessary you will wear the ultra the majority of the time.

I kept and still use my series 7 SBTi occasionally. Also use it for sleep tracking. It still shows 100% battery capacity!
