Are Mac users more self-centered and needy than Windows users?

My self evaluation:
1. self centered, arrogant, conceded = nah.
2. strong need for recognition = nah.
3. teeth whitening products = never.
4. sneaker purchases in 2007 = 0.
5. open personality = sure.
6. organic food = never.
7. starbucks = never.
8. Hybrid car = not even a regular car.
9. perfectionist = never.
10. pay for music = never.
11. liberal = sure.
12. democrat = sure.
13. more satisfied with Mac = not really.

I think part of it is because Mac users spend a much higher proportion of time comparing Macs to PCs than PC users spend comparing PCs to Macs. Sort of the way (I'd guess) Zune users spend more time talking about iPods than iPod users spend talking about Zunes.

4. sneaker purchases in 2007 = not quite sure what a sneaker is, if its something like a running shoe, i have not bought any...

6. organic food = yes, tastes better.
7. starbucks = one every year
8. Hybrid car = no, diesel vw, currently being ran on vegetable oil (woohoo)
9. perfectionist = yes, with things i care about
10. pay for music = yes (ebay)
11. liberal = not really
12. democrat = i suppose so
13. more satisfied with Mac = YES, i remember trying to execute an old dell i had, by bunging up the air vents...

Confirmed by taking the poll

My self evaluation:

2. strong need for recognition = love being recognized for the man-god that I am
3. teeth whitening products = sure
4. sneaker purchases in 2007 = I wear hand-stitched Italian driving moccs
5. open personality = sure, I'm being honest here
6. organic food = almost exclusively
7. starbucks = yup, when I can't get better
8. Hybrid car = no, but I do drive a station wagon - 330i Sport
9. perfectionist = absolutely
10. pay for music = always (except for Grateful Dead shows - sanctioned by the band)
11. liberal = I held fundraisers for Jerry Brown in NYC when he ran for President
12. democrat = left of
13. more satisfied with Mac = PCs are *****.

I bet there are a lot of us on here who would fit the profile in at least 50% of the answers.

seriously, i am a very keen mac owner, and i am really not at all anal! until yesterday, my room was a total mess, and my desk normally has about 15 glasses and mugs on!!
 
I've met someone here who pretty much fits that description to a T! It's amazing.

Me....

1. self centered, arogant, concedited = completely opposite.
2. strong need for recognition = only at work.
3. teeth whitening products = does toothpaste count?
4. sneaker purchases in 2007 = I think I bought two. Same brand just one pair of brown one pair of black.
5. open personality = it depends.
6. organic food = every so often but it's not critical.
7. starbucks = yes because there's only one Peet's and it's not close.
8. Hybrid car = nope
9. perfectionist = no but I like things to look good.
10. pay for music = most of the time.
11. liberal = sometimes
12. democrat = other times.
13. more satisfied with Mac = it turns out I've been equally satisfied with my mac as I was with my pc.

You mean conceited and conceded are different words? NO WAY!

I agree with the snob study, though. Most Mac owners are willing to pay more for quality items. We know what we like and we don't accept poor solutions.

ok, i have 3 questions for you US guys, i am from the UK you see...

1. what are sneakers?

2. how much does a starbucks cost in the US, in the UK an iced frappochino (large) costs £3.65 (about $7)

3. in the USA do you need to pay Road Tax on each vehicle you own, and does the vehicle need to pass a yearly inspection to make sure it is fit for the road... also, how popular are hybrids?
(in the UK, we have to pay about £150 for road tax, about £60 for an MOT (if the car passes) and another bucket load for insurance (about £1500 for an 18year old)

2: no idea I just get a Venti Coffee $2.00 US
3: Depends on what state you live in (in Virginia there is a personal property tax paid to the county for road tax, it is based on the value of your cars, in Florida there is none, Hawaii yes taxed on the registration by weight of vehicle) I have lived in all 3 of those states

1. Trainers

2. Live in UK now. Don't know. Grande skinny latte with an extra shot here is £2.55 ($5.10).

3. Road Tax - we have something similar when you register. Yearly inspection - yes, for emissions testing. Hybrids - lots of them, though many more SUVs. Insurance is a bucketload for an 18 year-old in the USA too (assuming that he or she is insured to drive a nice car).

7. starbucks = No, it's sh*t. I prefer proper coffee.l
8. Hybrid car = no, 1.2lt Fiat Stilo
9. perfectionist = Kinda
10. pay for music = Always, unless it's free.
11. liberal = yes
12. democrat = (as in supporter of democracy) yep
13. more satisfied with Mac = Never owned anything else, but I'll say yes.
 
I don't know if I'm a snob....ok well maybe I am!

I am currently in the process of going from a fully fledged PC user to a fully fledged Mac user, but have been a Mac fan for some years.

I don't think I like Macs because I'm a snob though. They are just far better machines with a far better OS.
