Hi - great to see the unpacking pics. Is it just the photo, or is the backlighting uneven on the screen - does it seem like that when in use?

I see what you are talking about as well. It does seem like there are some light and dark spots in the last picture and the right side seems a little darker than the left. It could easily just be the picture tho... not to mention it is a very picky thing to even notice haha :p

hi guys, the screen is perfect, i think you are just seeing shadows and poor photography with flash!;) i once had a powerbook where the screen went out by fading that way--but no worries, this one looks top notch to me! certainly the 24" screen is brighter-cleaner color than, but every bit as nice as my 23" cinema display and my wife's 20" intel imac---next to the 24" imac the 23" cinema screen looks a bit yellowish. btw i am quickly getting used to the hugeness of the 24"--having the screen real estate is awesome:D but so strange how the 20" imac looks teensy to me now:)

Yea yea, put 'em together! Each one with a keyboard too pwwwease

24" iMacs on display in New Jersey.

The Apple store in Bridgewater Commons mall in NJ has them in stock and on display. They look very nice, but they don't seem all that much bigger than the 20".

I am still definitely getting one soon.

HMm.....no I did not, but I dont think they would do that. On the outside of the store they advertised them, so I dont think they would pull you in there and not show you the goods.

duh! anyone could see the difference between the 24" and 20". there's no need to measure it. And I'm surprised it isn't that much bigger. i'd expect to be a LOT bigger with the casing and all.

24" available in both NJ stores near me (garden state plaza and Tice's Corner). but not super 24" available (upgraded graphics card and BT KB/Mouse options). I might just have to break down and buy it online :-(

OMFG! I just called the Tampa store and the guy who answered told me they have a bunch of 24" iMacs in stock. I said "24" ones?" He said "yes." I repeated myself three more times and everytime he said yes. Then I asked if he could put one on hold for me and he told me to hold on. Three minutes later some girl comes on the phone and tells me they don't have any in stock. Only one floor model.

The people there don't know anything. I went to Tyson's Corner on 9/9 and asked about it and they had no clue. I'm not sure they even knew it existed. I didn't see any C2D imacs at all.

I think its quite wider but it seems a little taller cause the 24" size

There are a few unpacking photos going around the web now. There is a thread in the community discussion about one guy's photos.

I went to the Cherry Creek store in Denver, they had one 24" on the floor that I played with for 1/2 hour and they had stock to sell as well. Pretty sweet, gonna place my order soon.

The Tampa store finally called me this evening and told me they received the 24" iMacs in and were holding one for me. Went there an hour later and picked it up. Now it's just sitting in my room waiting to be unpacked. :)

Oh, and I don't think my credit card is too happy about the arrangment. It got hit with $2,138.93 of charge power. :p

I would be very interested in how loud the speakers are when you get it up and running.

For those of you in the UK - don't bother going to the Regent Street London store. I checked in there today, and they guy said that they won't have one on display for 1-2weeks. Pathetic, especially when they ship within a few days from the online store.
