Not bugging. More curiosity than anything else. When it moves to teasing I play along then tell them with a case there is no issue. When I show them a hi-def movie or pics or a cool app or a facetime call the reception issue isn't mentioned again.

lol

I work with people all day, and they always ask me about it.

"I heard about the reception issues, do you have them??"

That's all I hear all day. I just always say "no, I don't have any at all"

I also get bugged by workers and friends. Once I show them the bright side of the phone they change their mind about the iPhone. The media has done to much damage to the iPhone. I told them that all phones have weak spots and their android phone lost signal with the death grip, they were surprised. I wanna start hearing positive comments from the media, not bloat bs.

at least one person a day asks me about the antenna. Im surprised about how EVERYONE seems to know EVERYTHING about a phone they dont even own....lol
Why should that surprise you? Most of the "Experts" I've met about anything on the planet have never:
A. Owned One...,
B. Been To..., or
C. had any Actual Experience,
with the things they are an EXPERT on, LOL. They either read about it on the Internet, saw it on TV, or know someone who's cousin saw one in person, therefore...Voila...they feel comfortable in having achieved: Instant Expert Status.

Yep people have asked, but they are not fanboys, so they are not annoying verbal diarrhea droid junkies. They ask, I explain, I show, they are underwhelmed since I don't have the problem, life moves on.

Yea this thing has become so overblown that people think I can't make calls at all when usually I have better reception than my 3GS.

I live near the university. When I'm walking with it in my hand or in Starbucks, I do get lots of questions about the antenna issue since it's so well known. It doesn't bug me at all, since it's an opportunity to help others and save them from all the problems. I'm not about to tell them it's fine when it's not. What goes around comes around. They appreciate hearing the truth. This is a bad phone. Yet it has a great screen & meets my needs as an iPod & web browser.

I had a guy at work start arguing with me and one of the other girls at work yesterday (she also has one) about how crappy our phones are. He was in denial that neither of our phones drop calls.

I have the issue but i usually dont hold it via "death Grip it feels to uncofrtable when i make call esp in my left hand i usually use the right so i dont have the issue anyway and hold on the middle to. I havent had to many people ask about i say its worse in my house which both At&T and Verizon suck in my house Verizon i get 2 bars in my house i get more actaully with ATT but everyone loves the design of it when i show it.

My friends have been bugging me ever since the antenna issue first came up. They always huras me because I prefer Apple products anyways. I tell them that there has never been an issue and that I almost never drop calls.

It's kind of funny; the one who bugged me the most is going to get an iPhone 4 to replace the 3GS he got 2 months ago.

when people ask me i show them, after they get over how amazing the display is, i take off my case and put my finger on the seam and when nothing happens I say "nope"

I've had a few people ask me would I keep my phone when they recall it. "I heard that Evo phone was 100% better." Oh yeah and I hear "the news said you can't use that phone if you're left handed." The new one I've gotten as of recent times was "But Consumer Reports says.."

Then they pull out their Razr and I laugh.

I don't get bugged but when i texted one of my friends that i just got the new iPhone, his first response was "How bad are the reception issues?"

That's when you say "Must be working fine since I just got your text message, and if it wasn't working, you wouldn't have gotten mine duh!"

Ditto

Used it all weekend at OU for Brew Week. Worked great - no dropped calls - fast 3G service - . My buddy remarked this morning, as we were leaving and some news show was talking about SJ press conference, I guess yours works fine. Yes, I replied - its the news media that does not work fine.

3G in Athens is unreal fast and reliable.
Probably the best I've come across in se Ohio.

I get this a lot as well. The most common comment being "Ill never get the iPhone, you can't even call anyone". Granted, the majority of these people are either android fanboys or just plain ole apple haters.

Every evening I go to the ball park and I take the phone and iPad so I can watch MLB games while I'm there. No one ever says a word about the phone. Nothing, not even once. But everyone asks about the iPad. Is it an iPad? Is that using 3G? What are you using to watch MLB games from here? How much did it cost you? Man that thing is nice, I was watching the game from three rows behind you over your shoulder. It's also kind of odd that with 6000 people there every evening, I only ever see 3 iPhones, mine and a two friends. Everyone else is either using the freebie they got when they signed up for service or a Blackberry. Not that look at everyone's phone, I'm not even close to that insecure, but if I saw an iPhone I'd notice it. I suppose none of this is an issue when you don't own and couldn't care less about the phone.

One thought....

I really liked what one person said on this forum: that when he had his iPhone4 out in public people looked at it "like he was holding a dead skunk in his hand."

Ugh.

But, the only issue I had was this - I work in I.T. and co-workers and I talk about technology constantly.

Co-worker calls me and mentions in passing that he heard that the iPh4 was a problem and I mentioned that I'd had mine for over 10 days and no issues and that kind of shut him up.
