More likely explanation is that you do not know what you are looking for with Image Retention.

1. Open mail.
2. Start a timer for 5 minutes.
3. Wait until timer expires.
4. Minimize mail.
5. Observe that you can read your email previews in the default galaxy wallpaper.

Do this for 7-round trips to your local Apple store (over $100 in gas!) before you get the senior store manager to grab you a laptop with a Samsung display.
 
Wanting to place a order for a MacBook Pro 15 inch retina but wondering if it's a safe buy with all the screen issues people are talking about.

I would wait until November-December if you can...I believe apple should have everything sorted out by then...since they are making the tweaks for the 15 RMBP..Just my guess...
 
had a samsung and got it replaced 20 hours after i took it in.. i am now fully happy with my MBPR

I own a rMBP with LG screen and it's got a little bit retention after I took the test. But what's the point, always use screensaver after 5 mins and display sleep after 10 mins. Then you will forget the term retention.

Don't be so happy! Go buy yourself a magnifying lens and search for a dead pixel, so that you will always stare at it for the remainder of your MacBook's life - despite the pixel being smaller than any of the gazillion dust particles on your screen.
 
no they are not fixed,still flawed.

ive returned two and not thinking of buying one until apple fixes the screen issues.
