small flathead screwdriver will work..its spring loaded so press down (not too hard!) and then clockwise
tried that, couldnt get her to budge though GRRRRRRR

really frustrated because it takes so long to get the case off, battery out, etc

i was using a 2mm flat head and while it's not a perfect fit, it should atleast move SOME....used a T-6 torx to get the TRi-wing battery screws out btw - perfect fit!!!
 
Having used both the 1st generation unibody and the newly released 2nd gen unibody macbooks, I would say the clicking is definitely quieter and tighter than before. However, it is still not as quiet as my non-unibody macbook pro (santa rosa) and still takes more pressure to click.
