Seems like most stores have it now.
For what it's worth, went to The Oracle today. They had 10 display models; two with Pencils, five with keyboards and three just on their own.
I picked one up and it's... bloody massive. An employee overheard me talking to my friend and tried to talk me into how great it was for graphic design and video editing, but I just can't see it. It's so big that you can't really use it held in the air, it has to be on a table, and if that's the case I really can't see the point of it over a MacBook and a Wacom tablet. Plus, software is nowhere near good enough for things like video editing professionally yet. If this gets a fully fledged FCP X app, then maybe it could be useful for rough cuts, but then I just think a laptop would still be way easier.
I use my iPad for reading, Safari and Netflix most of the time. The Pro just feels like it's trying to fill an esoteric niche. It's way too unwieldily for lying in bed and having a House of Cards binge, and doesn't really do anything markedly better than a MacBook for more advanced use cases. I know this is somewhat flogging a dead horse, but iOS also just feels wasted on a screen this large. I'm not advocating OS X on a tablet as I think that could potentially be worse, but just the masses of white space in every app reminds you this is an operating system designed for 3.5" and 4" devices running on something a fair chunk larger than a MacBook Air/retina MacBook. Split screen multitasking somewhat alleviates the problem, but it still feels clunky and not really a great solution.
I really wanted to like it, but I just can't. The gap it's trying to fill between iPad Air and MacBook just doesn't really exist.
I will say, however, that the Apple Pencil is very nice to use. It may not be anything groundbreaking, but it feels great in the hand, is very responsive and is well balanced. I was very sceptical of a stylus, but it's probably the best stylus I've ever used. Hopefully, support for it will come to a slightly less-enormous iPad (iPad Air 3 please).
