Hi i currently do not own a smart phone and was going to purchase a iphone 4 when they came out a few months ago, the antenna issue caused me to drag my feet and delay the purchase. i still don't have one... i am just wondering if I should get one now or wait another month or so to see if they fix the phone.. in the office where I work the iphone 4 antenna is an issue as I have co workers that get large attenuations of signal strength and dropped calls in our building when holding the phone in the lower left corner, even with the bumper, I could believe it when I saw it, the bumper he had was two pieces plastic and rubber
The issue is overhyped. Get one now, before Sept 30, and you can try it out. If you have the problem, then you can return it w/o the re stocking fee.
I know the main argument is because they have to go through the FCC. Why does Apple have to go through the FCC? Sorry, I'm not very inclined on the subject.
they're not going to announce a fix that Steve Jobs won't admit to. It will be covertly fixed (via production/manufacturing level) with no exterior changes whatsoever.
They have to go through the FCC due to regulations on the amount of radiation coming from the phone and where it is in relation to your head.
op, shut up and just buy the phone this questions gets asked at least 10x a week these kinds of threads show a few things a) newbs don't search b) misinformed c) poor reasoning skills D) don't realize that endlessly waiting for the "next version" of a product, will just leave you worrying the whole time that your shiny new object will no longer make you cool. As opposed to the rest of us, who buy a phone we honestly like and enjoy using.
Very easily fixed: 1) Buy iPhone 4. 2) Put it in a case (which I do with all my phones, whether they have antenna issues or not). Done.
i recommend you to wait till 30th sep and then go 4 buying. in this case you are not risking anything although there is a very small chance we see any fix!
I can't get my single to drop unless I use my left hand and twist it to the bottom in a very uncomfortable way. If you hold it naturally there isn't a problem.
