I pre-ordered my series 2 watch the morning of the pre-order and it seems to have paid off. I received my watch last week and have been enjoying it. I've been looking at store stock levels in the US and it seems like they a rare find. Did they only make enough watches for pre-orders or something? It seems almost impossible to find them.

I bought an AWS2 aluminum on launch day for someone else who had done a very early pre-order. My in-store pickup beat his pre-order by a week.

I'm wondering the same thing. I would love to go purchase a watch now while checking out our new Indianapolis Apple Store, but nobody within 4 hours has one

I'm looking for a stainless steel 42mm SG and i've basically stopped looking for in store pickup and reserved myself to waiting for delivery of my online order, sometime between october 19 and november 1 . . .

I'd be happier with my 42mm SS tries 2 Apple Watch if there were some sort of user guide available. Certain things, like settings, are more or less self-evident, but I just discovered that before swimming you had to activate the tear drop setting in the lower right of the control screen. I wonder how many people don't know this and just wander into a pool with what they assume is a water resistant watch?

You don't have to in order make the watch waterproof. It's just there so you can lock the screen so it doesn't go haywire while under water. The watch will still be waterproof no matter what.

Getting one isn't the problem... There have been some available near me. The problem is getting the RIGHT one.

If you live in a city with access to 3+ apple stores within an hour of each other, your chances if finding what you want are good. When you live in a more rural area with an apple store it's much harder. I have an apple store in my city. The next nearest are 1.5, 2.5, and 3 hours away. Even if I were willing to drive to Atlanta (about 2.5 hours away - with GOOD traffic lol), i don't feel like they have had stock quite like the DC or NY area have...

I'm still undecided between 42 mm space gray and 42 mm gold... If i were set on the gold, I could have picked one up this weekend at the store 1.5 hours away... it was just a long drive to decide I wanted something different!

Last week I gave in and preordered a 42 mm space gray - it's still processing. Need to decide what I want to do...

I ordered mine at 08:30 on 09/09 in the UK and was quoted delivery of the 30/09. Was dispatched on Friday and arrived this morning. Series 2 SS

Thanks. I did wonder about this.

There is a user guide available in the watch app on the phone. Open the app and click General > About and scroll to the bottom.

Consider that a luxury - in Denmark it launched September 16th and not a single watch have hit the Danish stores yet - the stores say all of them have been pushed to late October / early November here. Wtf man?

That's crazy!

I took a look at istocknow the other day and was amazed at the options available in the UK... Maybe I was just looking at the right time!

I didn't really look closely at other parts of Europe, but I thought they had a decent stock..

Guess I am lucky because I did no preorder just walked into the Apple store on the way into work and bought the one I wanted, SS Black.

I got lucky when Target.com had both the 38mm and 42mm SS black sports band in stock for a day last week. Ordered one of each and kept the 38 mm. Sold the 42mm to an active service guy who had been searching for one right away before deployment (at no profit by the way, since that was not my motivation -- not into scalping Apple products).

Curiously, Apple just issued an online guide to OS3 that can be downloaded to iBooks. It's very detailed and resolves the problem. I received notice of this in an unsolicited eMail from Apple.

Availability today at Indianapolis Apple Store. Wife and I picked up 38mm watches. Me gold and concrete. Wife rose gold pink sand. She brought another band and we left happy

This launch was very similar to Apple Watch Gen 1 launch. Stock is limited now for the Gen 2 Watch, but it will improve relatively quick. Apple's supply shortages will change in the next few weeks.

I live within 1 hour of 4 Apple stores and none have the model I want in stock.

This is nothing like the first AW launch. That was a train wreck. Manufacturing was at fractional capacity, and Apple had very little stock for the pre-order deliveries. It took like two months just to fulfill the first day of pre-orders. Stores did not get inventory until like three or four months after launch. This time, stores had inventory on launch day, and stores continued to receive inventory regularly.

I just looked at iStgocknow and only two stores in the States and two stores in Europe seem to have 42mm Ceramics in store :-(. It might be a long wait for those bad boys

I started another thread and perhaps I should not have. But, Best Buy has the S2 42 SS with sport band available for delivery or in store pickup. Delivery can be tomorrow (9/29) paid or friday (9/30) free. In-store pickup also 9/30.

Good news, since Target.com seems to have completely dried up and is not even taking backorders for most models.
