I upgraded my iPhone 6S to iOS 10 the minute it was published. That being said, I was really impressed knowing how awful Beta 1 could have been.

Then beta 2 came out, some minor improves, beta 3 came out, some more minor improves, then that iOS 9.3.3 jailbreak came out, so I downgraded it just to get some snapchat hacks. 9.3.3 was so much faster!

When Beta 4 came out, I was a bit reluctant to install after seeing all those unstable network warnings posted by people out there.

Beta 5 came out last week and after I upgraded it from my jailbroken 9.3.3, boy it was fast and smooth, even compare to 9.3.3. Sure there may be some small known bugs, but for the most part I think it's stable enough to consider a GM, other than some known bugs.

Should beta 5 be really close to a GM? assuming Sept. 7th being the big announcement date, I assume we will see another beta before GM.

Any other guesses?

Also how's Sierra for you? It totally toasted my 2011 iMac when beta 1 came out, though it was mostly fine on my 2012 macbook pro.

i think we are close when apple sends out the invites for the event and we have an official confirmation date on that.. GM is always the day of the event. fingers crossed it is the 7th of september!

Apple normally send out invites and announce an event two weeks prior so hopefully we'll hear an announcement on the week commencing the 22nd of August as the event is rumoured to take place on the 6th or 7th of September. Whenever the event is, that's when iOS 10 GM will drop for developers.

And that's really about all there's to it.

Looking at the calendar, we'll definitely see Beta 6, and possibly beta 7, before GM.

We'll likely see GM on the same day as iPhone 7 keynote.

Usually, at least. Unless some serious new big is discovered between the time gm is released and final, gm is intended to be final.
That being said iOS 9 final was different from GM and thankfully so.

I hope not. My keyboard is so sluggish. It can't keep up with my fast typing. Never had this problem before.

I think there still are important bugs that must be corrected. One more beta is needed.
Interesting you say this, I had an out of place blur on the dock before (i posted in another thread) and now it's changed again.

I hope not. It's awful! Not in terms of bugs, but because the control centre wastes so much space (especially on iPad), there's still no option to sort notifications by app, notification centre is still ugly as hell and removing slide to unlock is a disaster

Somehow it seems quite likely that most of those things aren't going to be adjusted before the final version comes out (or even later).

I fully agree with you (except for the fact that I think that the current beta still has bugs), but I really doubt that they're going to "solve" those problems for the iOS 10.0 release.

Music app still looks like it needs a lot of work (particularly on the iPad). For example it's still not possible to search downloaded music.

Isn't the "terrible" dock bug only aesthetic? Hardly something to be worried about.
It is aesthetics, but for a company that is obsessed with aesthetics, I would think it to be considered important.

I am sort of hoping this bug prompts them to just remove the dock. It is not like that opaque bar serves a purpose.
