I'm the guy in your rearview mirror, begging for you to pull to the side so I can get by.
I'm also the guy who charges through the grocery store with a hand basket rather than a cart because something/someone is invariably blocking the aisle so a cart can't get through. Navigating past such roadblocks whilst toting a basket isn't an issue. The downside to this strategy is that I end up fumbling with the basket to keep the 90 lbs of stuff from falling out of it by the time I get to the register.
It does seem like most of the world is in my way, but I don't get too fussed about it. I just smugly continue to operate as efficiently as possible and hope it inspires people around me to alter their habits. :)

It's all about the karma, baby, and the yin yang. Be a convenience for someone and it'll cancel out the inconvenience for someone else. Well, maybe not, but it's worth a shot. :)

balance and moderation are where its at. oh yeah.

Yup, people are more self-centered and aggressive than ever.

Hardly anyone has any sense of manners or pride in the way they conduct themselves any longer.

When's the last time somone actually waved at you as a way of saying thanks for letting them pull in ahead of you, or stopping to cross the street?

Really sad, actually. :(

Welcome to the "me" generation.

i certainly appreciate 'the wave' and i will always let pedestrians go first. i'm in a car. i can wait a minute. it won't kill me. and i always try to give 'the wave' when people stop for me to turn, or get through the intersection. but you're right that its not as prevalent as it should be. shame really. hopefully things will turn around at some point. but that may just be idealistic thinking.

Without fail, whenever my girlfriend is in a public place, if she takes a step backwards she always (and I mean always) ends up stepping on someone, running into someone, or getting in someone's way.

She seems to have a special knack for this. She doesn't look over her shoulder when she backs up, so that's probably why this happens. Still, I find it pretty funny most of the time.

There are days when I feel like I'm in everyone's way. They're my "off" days, and they're really frustrating. When I'm having one of those days, I try to just look out a little more than usual.

When I'm in a supermarket and someone leaves an unattended trolley in the middle of the aisle. I'll move it to one end of the aisle. One bloke stopped me once, whilst moving his trolley, I told not to leave it in the middle of the f***ing aisle.

All the time, actually. I guess they must be amazed and gratified that such a clearly superior being would allow himself to be inconvenienced and delayed for even a few moments by their miserable needs. But it makes me feel warm, even though it would be cheaper to run them over.

After you.

I hate crowds. When I'm in a mall and its busy, I look at a point about 6 inches over people's heads and keep moving. Most of the time people move because they realize I'm not going to. Arrogant little so-and-so, aren't I? I find most people are in my way due to a lack of thought on their part, but I'm trying to relax....a little........:p

LOL! . . .
