My iPad 1 was 32Gb and I never came close to filling it up.
So I will get the 16Gb this time around.
I don't keep any music on my iPad and very few movies and when I do put movies on it I delete them when I'm finished watching them.

I second that. My iPad 2 was 16GB and boderline full partially with music, but now I've bought a Lumia 800 and will have no need to put music on my iPad 3. Just like you I delete Dvix movies after having watched them and with regard to apps I'm pretty modest and only keep about 10 apps on my device which I actually use on a daily basis.

So 16GB will do the job well. Lets just hope that too many app sizes don't creep up to 1-2GB a a pop.

I had a 16GB iPad 1 but will go with 32GB for the iPad 3. Why? When the original iPad first came out 2 years ago, 16GB was adequate space but as technology gets more and more advanced (rumors of 1080p HD movies on iTunes), I don't think 16GB will cut it for much longer. The other reason is that I consider the iPad 3 the "ultimate" version that is finally here. The original didn't have cameras and the iPad 2 was thinner, lighter, and faster but didn't have a retina display. There were compelling reasons to upgrade every year. With the iPad 3, I think this is finally the model where I can refresh every 2 years and since I plan on keeping it for that long, 32GB sounds perfect.

16 gb for me

music is on iPhone as well as pictures that i take
I'm usually using mine for streaming via netflix, pandora, and directv
and some occasional gaming.

I'm def going with the 32GB version. 16 was enough to sate my needs on the iPad2. I don't bother to load movis or music on my iPad, but I do enjoy gaming on it and I imagine that apps will only get larger due to much higher res graphics.

If you aren't into games and just plan to stream content, then 16GB should be more than enough.

i sell these every year, never get back the difference from 16 to 32 gb.
16 this time for me.

I always get the 16GB version since I have an iPod for music and music videos. I also get one every year and the 16Gb is always the best bet to sell with the least loss. I don't expect that to change.

Still on the fence, but I got the 32gb last time around, and I will probably pick up the 16gb wifi model iPad 3. My computing needs have changed over the past couple years, and with an MBA, iPhone and iPod, 32gb is overkill.

I'd be interested to know how many 32gb-ers would jump to 64gb if Apple bumped the storage and nixed the 16gb.

I woulda gladly saved $100 on my 32gb but I got to thinking that I woulda jumped to 64gb so I could load up as much junk as I wanted. It's unlikely that they'll bump the storage though so I'll stick with 32gb. $600 is my limit for the iPad.
