Why? OLED is better than LCD, that’s not even up for debate. The Galaxy S8 has an OLED display, and it’s the best and most accurate display ever put on a smartphone. It’s not perfect, but it’s on a completely different league compared to LCD.

I like the look of LCD displays when using them. I've color profiled a GS7 before and still prefer the iPhone's LCD screen. I prefer a little blue tint, and the experience on an OLED screen is a bit different. It's very subtle, but you notice it when using an OLED for a while and then switching to LCD. Maybe it's the consistency of a back light behind it, that makes it seem more comfortable to me. Can't say tbh, but like I said, it's my personal preference.

To your point, color accuracy doesn't strictly equate to a better experience.

I just realized that the iPad's higher screen refresh rate is called Pro Motion. That means it's a Pro only feature. Seems likely the OLED iPhone 8 could use that and therefore would need to be called an iPhone Pro. I'd say the case for a Pro name is more likely now.

Promotion on the iPad is referred to the 120 Hz refresh rate, allowing the display to be more responsive. Its a named feature specifically for this reason.

That said, I Disagree with you that new iPhone will be labeled the "iPhone Pro." There's nothing Pro about an iPhone that makes calls and receive messages. Even with all the latest technology, labeling the iPhone Pro would be unfitting. It will either fall under the numbering system or another clever marketing term that we are not aware of yet.

What are you talking about? Because it's called 'Promotion' it has to be a 'Pro' named device? So from here on out all iPhones and iPads will forever be 'Pro'? Because they will forever have Promotion?

Promotion seems more like they promoted the motion. They made the refresh rates superior. Promotion is a word, we all know this right?

If I go new iPhone, I would prefer to get the iPhone Edition/X/OLED/whatever it's called. 64gb seems fine, but I prefer that 128gb option because no SD slot. Definitely looking to ditch Samsung.

Correct. New marketing term or old marketing term given new reasoning. For example, if the iPhone X has distance wireless charging it could very easily be called 'iPhone Air' and the 'Air' moniker would draw attention to customers and they realize it has distance wireless charging. This is just an example. It needs a marketing term to draw attention to new features. You are correct.

If there is a 7s, I might consider it. I don't really know for sure right now as I'm kind of looking at going back to Android. I like Apple but I've been struggling with my 7 plus. I want to see how this Qualcomm dilemma plays out and if only T-Mobile/AT&T get Intel again.

I dont understand why people buy 256gb of storage. I listen my music via Spotify (mostly offline!).
64gb is more then enough for everything. Really.

Because I can't find lots and lots of music I want by using Spotify. So I like to have a big choice on my phone. And I like to keep lots of photos on my phone.

So for me, 64gb won't even come close. Using over half my 256gb storage, so neither will 128gb.

You can store them on iCloud and stream (iCloud Music Library), like you stream Spotify.

Not the same as on board storage. You have to download from iCloud which takes up the space anyway (at least with the pictures and videos I downloaded from the cloud). I'd rather not stream anyway, can't be doing that on airplanes with slow internet. And I also keep lots of music videos on my phone.

It just suits me better to have a decent amount of storage on my device.

iPhone 7s/8/x/edition/pro - whatever it's called...i'm getting it (either 64-128GB). my poor iP6 performance/battery is getting annoying.

iPhone Edition 64 GB, for me. I can still get away with 16GB now a days.

iPhone edition for sure, I'm not buying the same freaking design for 4 ***** years in a row  these greedy Pieces of Sh**s at Apple sitting on Billions of dollars can't use some of that for R&D on new designs.... If it wasn't for the fact that I absolutely can't stand Android and love iOS so much I would stopped using the iPhone years ago. I mean these jacka$$es released the iPhone SE with a design from 2013 rather than coming up with a new innovative design for folks wanting a smaller phone.

That doesn't bother me. I don't have to have it the second it is released.

this. plus there's usually a few days in between announcement and pre-order day.
