Of course 70% of smartphones sales in Japan last quarter were iPhone. If I knew the numbers for other countries I would say that as well, but I don't.
Galaxy S2 has been the best seller in England and is still the best seller on amazon.co.uk.

I don't trust Apple, I trust Steve Jobs.
Look at what happened to Apple the last time he left.
I think this lengthened screen might be their first hardware blunder if it goes through.
...if you don't count the glass back and antennagate as blunders, that is...
So....do you like the Note?
I too changed over to the note and like it allot but I am still waiting to see what Apple comes out with.
Why? Every other phone has 16x9, now the iPhone will, and all you all can do is bit&h?
I'm glad people are writing about this. Taller alone is not a big improvementI'd rather have wider opposed to taller too if we only had one choice.
Found this on the net

Maybe for somebody less than 5 feet tall.I've been using the HTC One X for about a month now, which is a 4.7 inch device. All I can say is that the width is not good. Holding your phone in one hand can be extremely difficult at times.
This. You're missing an option on your poll... Those of us who don't care so much about screen size, but DO care about the phone size. By keeping the length and width close to it's current size, the next phone will still fit easily in pockets and be easily used with one hand.
I care far more about that than adding extra width for the screen. Besides, they could just about keep the phone exactly the same size as it currently is and still have a 4" a screen....that's what I'm hoping for.
I'm 6'4. I used the Thunderbolt for two weeks. Much more difficult to hold and navigate than the iPhone.Maybe for somebody less than 5 feet tall.
Couldn't be that bad considering its only 4.3 inches.I'm 6'4. I used the Thunderbolt for two weeks. Much more difficult to hold and navigate than the iPhone.
dont you guys remember up to a few weeks before the 4S was announced, everyone on the web was coming out with photos and new cases and covers for a total redesign of the next iphone? none were accurate and the phone physically was exactly the same as the 4. wont belive any rumors until Apple shows it to us.
Give this man a prize because he's got it going on.There were never any leaks regarding the supposed tapered iphone 5. The only thing that appeared was an Apple 'design document' that all the case designs and website renderings were based on, including the ones commissioned by Macrumors. There was never any evidence that a total redesign actually existed - in contrast to the various part leaks that appeared for the 4S.
This time we have plenty of evidence that a new design is in the works; the altered home button, new internal layout, the new frame with moved headphone jack, altered speaker grills & smaller dock connector, the elongated metal backplate and the longer 4" front screen with centralised Facetime front camera. We even have the schematics!
Could it be that all these are controlled leaks by Apple to throw us off the scent? It's possible, but unlikely. Everyone said the same thing last year when the 4S parts showed up, and look how that turned out.
All those calling these leaks fakes are likely hoping that they are, either because they want the screen to stay the same size, or because they're holding out for a more radical overhaul.
I would like the wider screen, personally. I have fat fingers and I'm always hitting the letter next to the one I mean to hit, gets kind of annoying. And if you flip the phone 90 degrees you can no longer text with one hand, it's too wide. Maybe I have bigger hands than most but I feel there's a sweet spot in the width just a little larger than it currently is.
I switched to the Galaxy Nexus because of all these rumors and I had been waiting to try it out for a long time and with the wider screen on that phone, I definitely type faster than on the iPhone. Without the extra width, a lot of iPhone users are pretty much using the same phone, unless they like widescreen video.I would like the wider screen, personally. I'm delighted that it's NOT wider! think about it... this is a PHONE, therefore will spend much of it's life being carried about in trouser pockets... the wider it gets, the worse it'll be, period.
Sounds like a dumb phone would be your perfect companion.
Conversely for those of us who use smartphones for what they were designed for, it's not something that just occupies a pocket.
Mine gets used a tremendous amount day in and day out. It's the ultimate way to stay connected, handle email, log onto the company website, etc.![]()
I keep reading about pockets.
I personally don't know one single person that carries their phone in their pocket... Seriously.
All the ladies I know place it in a pocket in their purse. All the men I know, have a case with a clip that hooks to their belt or pants.
Even if it were wider, which I wish for... There would still be plenty of room in a pocket.
