Are You Embarrassed By Your New iPhone4?

Tell ya what embarrassing is when guy at work questions "had any trouble with your iphone?"

I state Nope not one. He adds "No problem with reception?"

He then demonstrates how the reception issues drops when holding a certain way. We stood there laughing watching the bars go up and down when picking it up. NICE!!

I can reproduce the issue, but again it has yet to affect my regular use.

People have been very curious about the phone. So much so that I've had total strangers walk up to my table at a restaurant and ask:
"Hey, uh, is that the new iPhone?"
"Any problems with reception?"

Nah.

The more I use it, the more I'm glad I got it.

Granted, I know some folks got a lemon or believed the hype about indestructible glass screens and had to learn the hard way, but I'm happy with mine.

Agreed. It does everything I need it to, so why be embarrassed.

Oh how I hate whiny Apple l:apple:sers, always claim they are first with every feature.

I could get the bars on my HTC Touch HD to do that 2 years ago! :D

I am in no way embarrassed by my iPhone 4. That'd be absurd.

I am, however, embarrassed by how extreme a minority of people act towards what is just a phone. But make no mistake, it's not the phone that's embarrassing, it's some of the people buying it (you jsut have to look at this forum to find a few...the guy who almost hit a genius bar worker over it...the guys who rallied around him to say 'yeah! go you!'...horrifyingly embarrassing and shameful stuff).

Are you embarrassed when you drive thru taco bell in your geo metro and the HS girls laugh at you for having a pos on top of owning an iPhone 4!?

The First thing I always get asked when someone sees i have an iphone 4 is this: how do you like it? I heard it has antenna issues?
That's pretty embarrassing but more of an embarrassment for Apple.

I've had that too. And my response is "nope. No issues. Great phone!"

Embarrassed? No. Protective? Yes!!

Sometimes I'm self conscious about it in public, but only because it's new and I hate when strangers ask to put their paws on it.

Come on everyone say it with me; "I'm not embarrassed by my new iphone4" say it ten times before you go to bed and maybe you will wake up believing it, or better still you will dream it's perfect with no yellow splodges or proximity issues and the reception actually improves when held in a 'death grip'!

I'm just kidding, calm down.

Stop posting. You're just not funny, witty, or entertaining at all.

No.

But the first week I got it, I was more paranoid. I was in San Diego and San Francisco the past two weekends and have seen plenty of iPhones. The iP4 with a black bumper especially. The less new it is and more common I see it, the less paranoid I am. I was waiting for my flight yesterday at SF airport, and just whipped out the iP4 with the music playing off the external speaker. I still LOVE my new iPhone 4, but the honeymoon phase is wearing off that I can finally rely on it as a "tool" and not some precious jewel that needs to be constantly hidden from the crowd. If you want a "perfect" phone minus scratches, fingerprints, and dust, leave the phone in the box and never use it. Like leaving your new Ferrari in the garage and never driving it only to look at it. I've gotten to the point where I can still baby my iPhone, but will continue to bust it out without the paranoia of real world abuse. I am content with the black bumper + holster case combo. I don't really care for screen protectors on this device. The phone isn't forever for me. If faint scratches occur, oh well. As long as it continues to work and do it well.

Htc may have done it first, but apple was the first to do it right and simple to use. :D

If someone gets embarrassed by owning an electronic that is not a stimulator of some kind then that's just ridiculous.

I show mine off all the time when I'm outside my office. People want to see it. A lot of people are on the fence about getting one because of the BS they read on the internet so I just show them what Avatar looks like on the new screen and seconds later they are on Apple's site.

No HTC wasn't first, my old Nokia's from the 1999 - 2002 era's did it, so did my Sony Ericsson, and my LG's, and come to think about it every phone I've had except for my iPhones (including the new one) and one of my really old Nokias.

(I used to cell cell phones and I know they pretty much ALL do it :D )

NO, no, no. When asked if it has problems. I hand it to the person, if I know them. Tell them to look at the bars - would you like me to make a call, etc.

Then I make the great statement - "You do realize that everything on the internet is NOT true."

But it is true :D

It's on the news, in newspapers.
