OK, I know it must be a bitch to be victimized for your hair colour, but I just have this feeling of "I knew this was gonna happen some day". Ginger hair and freckles is not attractive to me...but then neither is overweight and follicly challenged like Yours Truly.

Love to hear opinions... :D

Are you Gingerist?

They showed that family that "claimed to be victims of gingerism" on the TV news a couple of mornings ago.

It's nothing to do with being ginger, they just look like right pikeys!! If they were my neighbours I'd want them out too :D

They smell if you leave them out in the rain, apparently.

Actually, I find red haired women very attractive. OK...I find attractive red haired women attractive. Which is pretty obvious.

I think I am gingerist.. I really shouldn't be but all the ginger people I know bug me! Not because of their hair, their personality I can't describe it so Im just going to put it out there. Sorry if I cause any offense..
Even though I really really fancy Willow out of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Best show of all time!)

I have a few ginger friends and I know some extremely attractive ginger girls.

Got absolutely nothing against them :)

I think red hair can be gorgeous, although most of the time, when I see red hair that looks strikingly good, it also looks like a lot of effort was put into it (as opposed to a lot of people who seem to have gorgeous hair more effortlessly in other colors). Of course, in the US, people gloss over just how large a majority of people on the planet have black hair (including myself). ;) And then again, those of us who have curly hair also are higher-maintenance hairwise than straight-haired people. I know my girlfriend makes fun of me for it.

Although, I have to add... a red-haired faculty member was talking about this earlier. There's a lot of talk about the personality of people with red hair. But there actually *is* credible research indicating neurological differences (related to pain perception) that exist in people with red hair. So there may actually be a small sparkle of truth to it:

Well the red heads that I know, including me, have much higher thresholds of pain than non redheads that I know.

I think you guys should watch an episode of south park that covers this! Click here and scroll to season 9 Episode 8 "Ginger Kids". Cartman gets his just desserts.

That's the interesting thing... that was the pattern I had thought would hold in research also, but at least that article seems to indicate the opposite.

There has also been research that contradicts that article. So I guess we basically are no different to non red heads.

There are two 'gingers' in my class. One is a real prat, and gets teased for it (quite a lot, but nothing too aggressive), and the other is really nice and the subject hardly comes up...

Who the hell is Cartmon?

Blah cartman cartmon sound the same :p

I loooove bright red hair!

I keep telling DH that our children must have red hair and green eyes. He's the Irish one after all.

Admittedly, it might be a bit difficult with my black hair and dark brown eyes.

So the pressure's on.

Stop hating my people, RED POWER!!!!!!!

My finance has brown hair and green eyes and I have red hair and brown eyes. So we will either have kids with red hair and green eyes (nice) or brown hair and brown eyes (boring!)

I think ginger hair looks great. It shows light in ways that no other hair colour does, from bright fiery orange under bright light to warm dark reds in autumn. My girlfriend's hair never ceases to amaze in some situations.
