Each to their own and if you think the storage tax is reasonable on a pretty much disposable two year device that costs a bomb already, but I don't understand why people need every single photo and video they've taken to be carted around with them 24/7. OK so some don't trust online 'cloud' storage for whatever reason but why not periodically transfer data to a USB stick or computer in order to free up space? Seriously, who needs tens and tens of GBs of photos in their pocket? I can't even imagine taking that many, let alone needing 24/7 access to them *all*. It seems like laziness rather than any great requirement when people 'need' such huge storage capabilities. Yes I can understand with music to a push, but not photos and video.

Do you have children? I know that's what uses, or will use, a ton of my space. Shoot 4K and GBs disappear fairly quickly.

I don't see much difference between music vs media. I mean, if not offloading photos and videos every 10gb is lazy, couldn't that also be said of music? You get plenty of music in a similar storage space.

Regardless, I'm more comfortable having space than not. Everyone's needs and conveniences are different.

FWIW moving from a 16gb 6s means I can have all the big apps, local movies (for planes, holidays, etc), cached Prime TV shows, plenty of music and audiobooks, podcasts, shoot tons of photos and film 4K without too much a worry I have to compromise somewhere. That's of value to me and not simplified to such a rudimentary level that merely compares resale value or cloud subscriptions.

To each his/her own!

Jesus and to think i don't have a single game on my phone

Its the same type of people that take with them 5 suitcases worth of stuff on a 3 day vacation trip.
Just in case they need something they got the whole house with them :D

I like to keep photos/videos on my phone in case I want to show someone one of them. If they're on a flash drive or on my Mac at home, what good is that? But I'm like @spriter. I had the 64 GB 6s+ and still didn't feel comfortable downloading my favorite games that are 1+ GB per and then downloading my videos onto it. I now don't have to worry. Everyone's needs are different, like Spriter said.

Im with you on that, tech stuff and usb wires with chargers is what I pack first :D
Lol, we already have dedicated smartphone and tablet chargers and cables for travel prepacked in an eBags packing cube. Of course, all tech items go on carry-on. :D

We have 2x of this charger along with inexpensive AmazonBasics Lightning and Anker microUSB cables:

For long trips where internet access is iffy, I also make sure to update the laptop and let Dropbox completely sync so we have all our important documents with us. Honestly, the only reason I still have a laptop is primarily due to long travel when I don't have desktop access. The laptop acts as my desktop replacement during trips. :)

Meanwhile, packing clothes and stuff is usually an afterthought. I've often just bought clothes, shampoo, soap, sunscreen, etc when we get to our destination. :p

Went camping this morning and my phone's battery is going low. I have 2 charging cables but forgot my power bank. Then I see this in the trunk of my car. Lol! Heavy but definitely worth having. At least it's still a charger.

Stanley makes a great product. I've been wanting to invest in a mobile battery pack for while now.

When I was in the store I had just enough money to get the 128GB or get the 32GB plus maybe a case.

I'm so glad I went for the 128GB as 32 just wouldn't be enough. I got the case a bit later on.

Personally it is cheesy of Apple to up the base to 32gb from 16gb after all those years, but they need to keep a low price phone for the non storage users. What I do not seem to get is they advertise the phone as 32GB, yet after you first turn it on and configure it without any data you lost almost 10GB already. What they should do is put the in an extra say 8-10GB call it the 32GB, but after you load the phone for the first time you should have roughly 30GB available. I know it is the way space is calculated but I mean c'mon with videos and photos being so large even granny runs out of space quickly and you only get 5GB default from iCloud.

Cheesy move for a company that touts they are leading the tech field.

You dont make any sense.
You lose 10GB without any data on it?
They should put in an extra 8-10GB's and then call it 32GB?
Wow....

Would it have been better if they didn't finally up the base model?

I have an iPhone 5 with 32GB and there is plenty of room. I always download all the videos and pictures to my MBP. I do not get how could you have so many things in a portable device. Pictures, videos, music.... I have a good amount of music, always switching.

Agreed. I just transfer all my pictures off my iPhone to my email or my computer. Much more efficient this way.
