I see it all over the news this past two days with everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, detailing how to snag the iphone X using the app store app. I have a feeling more people will be using the app than the website this time around.

I agree, they revealed the one secret that gave us forum users the edge over the masses when it comes down to preordering

Yea and that's gone. Now, the people who will get it the fastest are those who have the quickest interaction with the servers. There will be way more than 3,000,000 people up at 12:01 ready to go. I think its very likely (and all but guaranteed) that within a minute, all initial stock will be gone.

Psssssssssst!!! Hey guys! You do know the quickest way to access the store is via the app on the Apple Watch!! 😉

Lil birdie told me that trick!! Works EVERY TIME!!!!

Do you really think it’ll go that quick?

I've been going back and forth on this point for a while. I've read all of the information pertaining to supply being extremely limited, as well as the rumors about supply being fine.

I tend to side with those who say that supply will be limited. Also, couple that with the fact that i think people are actually underestimating demand (not analysts, i mean us regular folk). The sticker price is one thing, but with payment plans and carrier subsidies, the market is huge (they've done this on purpose, as they know there are millions of people who want the phone and would buy it but cant plunk down a grand on the spot for it).

2-3 million at launch is not a lot, especially seeing as how that supply will be distributed to 57 countries worldwide. With the amount of information out there on how to order fast etc., there will be so much more competition to be the first to pre-order. When you look at how many people will try to buy right at 12:00, i can only imagine its way above the 10-12 million that are being estimated. And even if the 10-12 million was correct, that means that only roughly 20-25% of those who try to pre-order right away will get the X.

apple.com is what i will try to go with though i'll have the app open aswell and see which ones get me where i need to get quicker.

You guys are overthinking this! We have NO clue what the exact amount of X's will be released initially, could be 2-3 million, could be 30 million..

I'd say plan for the worst, and hope for the best... and don't forget to click that Apple Store app, on 10.28 @ 12:01PST!!

I HAVE to use the app, since I'm in the IUP program.... if I was flat out buying the phone, which I could do, I would have multiple devices open. I'm hoping the IUP preorder produces less clicks than buying out right!

I currently have a galaxy s7 edge but was able to set the favorites for the iphone X in the apple app on my old iphone 5 with my icloud account. I notice that when i did a test run to order an iphone 8, it gives me the option of buying the phone at full price or replacing this phone with the new one. Will it recognize my current galaxy phone since i have to trade that in, even though im using my old iphone 5 to order the X?
