I have a rather big ego...though I think a big component of goodlookingness has to do with how you carry yourself anyway.

I also had a selection of attractive girls after me and buying me drinks (!) at the bar the other night...so my big ego isn't entirely unfounded. :p

This thread IMO seems to be figuring out more about self esteem or ego than actual appearance. There's plenty of ugly (used in the sense that the majority of people would consider it so) people that think they're good looking, and plenty of good looking (again same sense) that think they aren't attractive. So in the former perhaps it would be inflated ego, in the latter perhaps low self esteem.

In the real world...I don't think it matters if you consider yourself attractive or not, I do not consider myself attractive (I voted no) but my wife does ;) so that's all that really counts.

Sorta kinda.

I look much younger than I am, which sucks trying to get into pubs, bars and clubs, but I suspect it will be a godsend when I'm older- my dads nearly 60 and he looks mid 40's. I am tall, and have long hair, which some chicks dig, some don't. Ego? Whats that  :p

OK I'll post some pics...

Heres me after watching that seinfeld episode
:D

Heres me on vacation in Florida

Heres me after getting a phone call from my dad asking me to fix his Dell

Heres me wondering if I painted my ceiling the right color

Heres me after an allergy attack
;)

Heres me as I sprained my ankle

Your face seems to change colors a bit, might want to get that checked out. (And I'd turn green after watching seinfeld also...j/k...but not really)

I wanted to get in on this thread, not looking for compliments I just want to see the "you look like..." comments, I get them all the time, but won't mention any of them to see if people come up with the more common ones on their own.

(these are pics I just took here at work)
And would also like to see if anyone can guess my age that's a fun one cause everyone thinks I'm older than I am.

Richard Stallman?

Which is why I'll agree with MacNut in this case. You're not the best person to judge yourself with regards to appearance. Someone who tries to get dressed up and look nice may actually look so bad that other people who see him/her may actually giggle in response. The person who dressed himself will never think he looks bad if he honestly tried to look nice, so your own opinion on how you look is the least realistic opinion you can hear, although it may also be the most important, since it's an indication of your self-confidence (too high or too low).

This made me think of an interesting scientific study, in general do people that use Macs (the majority of the time) have better self esteem than people that use Windows machines (the majority of the time)? It seems the majority of MR (or at least those that participated in the poll) have pretty good self esteem.

I would have to say I'm average. I have a big nose (thx, Yiddish ancestry), diminutive chin, and blanch-white skin (Being of English & Germanic stock). But, to my credit, no cauliflower ears, no cabbage nose, etc.

Therefore, no. But I don't think I'm that bad a person, per se. Looks aren't everything.

I voted yes, mainly because I think I'm a bit above average. I'm no Charlie Sheen or Dennis Quaid. Here's a picture.

I didn't think this thread would be this popular!

I put no.

Surprisingly, 16 year olds with a slight bit of extra weight, who smoke, drink, and like anything except rap don't attract too few girls. :p

Well I think you're attractive, although you can't see your whole face in your pictures....

O, and what are you doing with your hands in one of your pics, lol jk

A lot of folks fairly full of themselves, if the survey numbers are any indication.

Almost 50:50 now? It's probably quite indicative of the membership at large.

I'm not an oil painting. I've had quite extensive cranial / maxillofacial damage which meant a partial face rebuild, and although an excellent job has been done some scar tissue remains - and not the sexy kind :p

Now while I can blame things on that, it doesn't change the fact that I wasn't actually an oil painting to begin with :D
