Pursuit of happiness is like a hunt for a unicorn. Everyone else seems to know where he is and have many ideas on where to find him, but to you its always over the next hill.
Happiness/joy is an outcome of other factors not a thing unto itself. It has a lot to do with higher principles and your interaction with others in your life, rather than what you actually do to attain it. When you take the focus off yourself, and put it some place else, paradoxically you seem to attain a better outlook on life.
Gadgets (even Apple), money, relationships only, food, drink, whatever are all empty calories at a smorgasbord that is suppose to lead to happiness.
