Had the 16gb wifi iPad 2. Upped one to the 32gb wifi new iPad and couldn't be happier! Have tons of photos on it, but keep all my music on my 4S. Love love love this iPad, will be keeping it for a long time!

I'm kinda wishing I bought the ATT version instead of the Verizon version....I just figured Verizons LTE network is more mature however it was still non existent in florida and here in boston where I live both networks are kind of the same but ATT is faster.

Very happy with my purchase. A worthwhile investment I think. I have a 16gb iPad 2 with wifi. Didn't feel the need to get 3G since there is wifi everywhere, especially at home and at university.

Was just in Boston 2 weeks ago, and experienced Verizon's LTE network - wow. If AT&T's LTE network is anything like their hspa+ network... it was painfully slow... this was using my galaxy note

64GB iPad 3 4G. Very happy with it thus far. Have used the cellular sporadically but is very nice to have when wifi connections are crappy/nonexistent. Wish it had larger storage capacity though

I splurged on a 64gb model of the play book but in the end never really made use of the storage space, so I went with the base 16gb wifi iPad 3. With air server, sdhc card, cloud storage, and tether access I don't feel cramped at all. Saved a decent chunk of change and put that towards accessories instead.

If you merely need an excuse to go 3g, consider that the major carriers are rolling out data share plans...which allow you to share data over multiple lines/devices...That could be a reason in a year or two have the 3g version...I currently get by with wifi only and it's only been a pain in the butt at certain airports and hotels that only have paid wifi. I'm kinda wishing I got more than 16 gigs, though...it's filling quickly with stuff.

That's the main reason I'm looking at buying the one with 4G from Verzion so we can share all our data. I just didn't know there was such a big difference in the price from the one with only wifi and the one with 4G.

Hi Guys,

I have the first gen iPad and am looking to upgrade this soon. It's a 32gb 3G. With the next model am not sure that am gonna go for the 3G model as I have wifi at work and at home + wifi hot spots etc.

I just wanted to see what your opinion was on this. Am tempted to go for the 64GB wifi 3rd gen?

Does anyone know when refurbs will be available? If so how many of you have ever purchased a refurb, I myself have not.

Thanks for any info :)

I went from a gen 1 iPad 64 gig 3G, to an iPad 3 64 gig wifi.

I now have unlimited data on my 4S and free tethering, so it seemed a no brainer.

My 2011 27" iMac came from the Apple Refurb store, was perfect in every way and indistinguishable from a new model.

I'm planning on getting an Air soon and that too will be coming from the refurb store.

Now I wish I got the 64GB, but not crying over it.

Later discovered Verizon can use ATT network, would have picked the Verizon one then, but may not be issue for me anyway.

32 GB iPad 3 4G. I had a 64 GB original iPad but decided I didn't need the extra storage, especially with iTunes Match and being able to re-download many things from iTunes. Very happy with my new iPad.

yeah i am thinking about making an upgrade to your exact configuration.

how is it working out for you, storage and data consumption wise? i would really like the convenience of just whipping out the iPad and getting on the internet wherever i am. i know i have an iPhone with a data plan, but sometimes i really need the larger screen real estate. i guess i could always pay $20/mo for wifi tethering on my iphone 4S (or jailbreak it).

hmm...decisions decisions!

I would say save your money for tethering and just jailbreak it.

After having the first 2 iPads as 32gb models, I decided the third needed to be a 64gb model. Couldn't be happier about the decision. Each iPad gets better, and with the new retina display I'm sure the files are getting bigger too.
