I noticed mine became a little fussy after I applied a full surface screen protector. But, it’s only an occasional fail and seems to have gotten better with time.

My biggest problem is forgetting to look at the sensor when I take my glasses off. Otherwise, tilting toward my face with glasses on unlocks very consistently. When I put on a mask, unlock with Apple Watch has been very reliable.
Your comment about glasses helped solved the mystery. I recently switched to progressive lenses and as a result have to look at my phone through the lower half of my glasses. When I do so the phone doesn’t unlock. Once I move it to the mid-range or distance top half it unlocks. I just tried this multiple times. I’ll just have to get use to unlocking it using the distance vision half and then shifting it down to the reading lens portion to use the phone. ? (the other thing I noticed is that I need to look at the middle of the iPhone screen, not directly at the faceId camera)

I heard people say that Apple are going to ditch the mini after 13, anyone heard that, or taking it seriously?
Won't there be a 14? What do you think?`

I love the mini, and if so I have to buy one now. As the form would be much nicer for me.
But actually my XR are serving me well for some more time. It’s a pretty ok phone.

I bought both a iphone 13 mini and iphone 13 to try out and plan to return one of them. I only opened the iphone 13 mini now and the size of it seem good.

The thing is I heard the battery is good but not as good as the iphone 13. Now if you have a powerbank with you almost always, isn't this a nonissue? The bigger screen while holding it just seem a bit uncomfortable etc.

Guys that randomly buy chit knowing they are going to return it drive the prices up for everyone. You are a scammer. Nobody should give you advice. You are the problem

This is the first time ever I bought two electronic items just to try to see which one I like and plan to return one of them. I have never done this before and people suggested I do this earlier when I said I wasn't sure if i should get the 13 or the mini. I didn't even want to do this but people said lot of people do it. As of now, I still did not open the 13 yet as I like the size of the mini. And I don't want an issue where if i open the 13, then some issue happens when they won't accept the return.

Don't make assumptions on people. So you telling me you never bought some clothes/shoes even once just to try to see if you like it or not? If you did, how about I call you the problem.

Now relating to the iphone 13 mini. I have tested it for a short while only.

I want to know if this is normal. I charged the iphone 13 mini to 100% last night. Then now maybe around 13 hours later, I click on the right button on the side to turn it on ... it wasn't powered off... I see the battery is now 89%. I did not power off the phone but just left it on with the screen not turned on etc.

Is this normal? How can it lose that much percentage when it's not doing anything?

Yes v much so. I had to turn off True Tone just to make the screen look the same as my iPhone 11 (with True Tone on)

is that a deal breaker for you?

my 13mini against my 12 pro is warmer

That seems pretty normal. Battery drain happens even on standby. I've been doing a fair amount of reading on the Mini as I'm considering one, and one place I read (can't remember where, sorry) stated a standby time of 75 hours. You seem to be beating that pretty easily based on your numbers.

Okay so standby is the term for that. But still, i remember my old iphone SE when i first got it... when i let it standby the whole night, i don't recall it draining more than a few percentage at most.

So this is completely normal? I had thought when i check it 13 hours later, it would probably be like 98% still etc.

From what I've read it is, but someone who's had a Mini for a bit would be able to give you some "real world use" feedback. Good luck with your new Mini!

No, I dont buy multiple items knowing I will return one. You are a scammer that costs business money with your games. Quit trying to justify you unethical actions with "people told me to do it". Make your own decisions and stop doing this chit

Completely normal. But you can set off some locations services you probably don't use. I did this to mine and now I get 0% battery drain for some hours. Now my battery is easily lasting more than 24h because standby battery drain has been decreased a lot. Maybe that will help you.

Why buy both if you scared to open it?

It bothered me the first day, but I got used to it once I turned off True Tone. Just don’t use your old device side by side with it. I just turned on truetone to see if it was as bad as I remember, yup the screen looks like warm piss now. ?

Okay so turning off background refresh is good idea then overnight? Also with wifi? However, I don't want certain programs to not alert me at night... example skype, whatsapp, wechat etc. So if i put no for background refresh it does it too all apps right? But what about just having it turned on few a few apps? Would that help?

Do people here turn off wifi overnight though when their iphone is on standby? Doesn't seem like good idea if you might get call or text or message with those apps?

Turning off background refresh is a bad idea, it’s content loss isn’t worth the battery saving. Wi-Fi is the same, turning it off will not save enough battery.
Location services are the problem. Setting are on by default, like HomeKit, compass and other useless stuff.
