Fed up with all the Redundant, Whiney, Negative, Unintelligent, Complaining Threads?

Refer to my earlier post though. If you want other threads - create them. No one is stopping other discussions from happening. I'm not going to comment on your opinion of the song and its sentiment - responses appear in one of the other several threads and no need to turn this into another stop complaining or bring it back thread

I agree with you, completely, but sometimes in a fast-paced forum such as this, with so many users posting about the 'hot-topic' of the day, and creating new threads as such, it gets to the point where 'other discussion' is simply pushed to the bottom of the pile...

then there's the counter argument that you could at least try, which is also a very good point. Both sides should stop moaning really... lets all move on.

*I'm neutral, it doesn't bother me.*

After all, this is a public forum. There are going to be both positive & negative people here. My happiness is not affected by mere words from the mouths of people who may be very unhappy with their lives. Their juvenile attacks are mere reflections of a lack of intellect. When there is a problem with the product made by the company they have attached themselves to, they become agitated, defensive, and combative. It's a reaction common amongst those who worship a person, company, or both.*

I'm neutral. The more I learn about my phone, positive or negative, the better. The threads where people post to say they're leaving and never coming back, those can go away.. :D

You are 100 percent right - and that is an inappropriate comparison and one that I shouldn't have made. No excuse other than to say I should have come up with a better comparison - as simple as "police".

But that being said - if your going to post in an open forum, you can't dictate the rules by which someone replies. If you don't want comments - don't post.

And while I do agree - it's tiring to read BOTH sides over and over - I would never suggest people stop posting. Instead I would take ownership of my feelings and choose either to not read or not visit the site until things calm down.

No one if forcing you to click on these threads. So sincerely - if it upsets you - are you deliberately engaging in behavior which annoys you?

First, I love my iphone and I have no intention of returning it. I enjoy it, it works fine for me.

Second, Here again, since you apparently did not my first explanation let me try ever so humbly again to lay it out for you.

I started the thread because I wanted to get a read of where people were at. Seemingly to me, not to you, to me there have been and overwhelmingly enormous amount of negative, nasty, whining, complaining, increasingly unintelligent, redundant, petty threads being started. People are not searching, threads are not being moderated closely, fights and divisions are rampant and its not feeling like a community of like minded individuals who are interested and curious in the products discussed.

This is what it was about according to their mission statement:

"MacRumors.com is a website focused on Apple news and rumors.
As the most popular site of its kind, MacRumors attracts a broad audience of both consumers and professionals interested in the latest technologies and products. The site also boasts an active community focused on purchasing decisions and technical aspects of the iPhone, iPod and Macintosh platforms."

I love this site and I personally think its moving away from what it once was. To me the forums have become rampantly tedious, and boring and I was curious if others were feeling that way.

So sifting thru the monotony of like negative threads this morning I wondered if anyone else was getting as fed up as I was with the same old merde.

It was a vote, to get a read on others thinking and I did not see the need for comments since it was just a barometer but obviously I knew some would not be able to vote and not hit those keys with something to say. Some forums you can do a poll without comments, which I would have done given the option. Sometimes, comments are just not necessary.

I also did not make any demands as you say, just made a suggestion, some would actually welcome not having to comment believe it or not. t

You felt compelled immediately to take issue with that and thats fine, but comparing it to Nazi Germany is just another example of not thinking before writing and submitting. The comment was not necessary, plain and simple because no one was infringing on your rights as a community member.

Third: Please don't tell me to take a vacation, or not read threats that might upset me, I didn't ask for your advice or suggestions, I asked simply for a vote, that's all. Telling people what and what not to do just seems awkwardly out of place. If I had asked for advice, had invited you to give me guidance I would not been shy about doing so, believe me.

Fourth and finally, why be a devil's advocate when one wasn't asked for?

I'm sick of fanbois who keep saying the IP4 isn't defective. I'm sick of Steve Jobs trying to perform Jedi mind tricks on us. He's lucky if RIM/Nokia don't sue him for slander.

Nah. I skip most negative ones and read the positives. However, the positives get overrun by negative responses too.

I just think that as much as I love the iP4 and all things Apple, they are capable of screwing up. Even if as Jobs said, there's a small percentage of antenna issues, the perception is that the iPhone 4 is a cluster-eff. Perception overrides facts. Lies become truths if unchallenged, and Apple's challenge doesn't seem convincing to a lot of people. So oh well.

I just see this iPhone release as a really bad PR moment for Apple. I'll bet that this type of design flaw won't happen with future models.

You didn't ask for advice or suggestions - but you started a thread. Again - you've been here long enough to know you can't create a poll alone. And by posting a thread - you are going to get commentary. You tried to dictate whether or not this would happen in your initial post. So how about you follow your own advice. You know - where you suggest that telling people what and what not to do? It just seems awkwardly out of place....

The hypocrisy is outstanding. To be blunt - I don't care if you asked for advice or not. You invited discourse.

It's like asking someone "Does this color look good on me" and then when someone says "No - I think you'd look better in red" you being upset. Did you ask what color you'd look better in - no. You just asked if the color you were wearing was good.

And as for being devil's advocate - again - stop trying to control everyone and what they can or cannot post. Do you think you have that "right" since you created the thread? Oh please....

obviously you don't care.
obviously you have to have the last word.
obviously you are never wrong
obviously you know everything
obviously you are a devils advocate
obviously you know more than anyone else
obviously your opinion takes precedence over everybody's
obviously you simply cant let go
obviously you are for sure part of the ongoing problem
obviously you never have anything positive to say
obviously you argue for arguments sake
obviously your level of intelligence far exceeds others in the community
obviously you never think before you write
obviously you should be put in charge of this forum

I think a better way to express it is that I am tired of the totally negative comments made by those whose sole intent is to be negative. I DO understand that people who are having legitimate issues feel the need to vent, and I think they should be able to do just that. And I understand why. If you spend a chunk of change on a new piece of technology and you have nothing but problems, the frustration is pretty understandable.
But some folks seem to be getting a sadistic pleasure out of saying the same negative things over and over usually ending with "...so I'm taking my iPhone 4 back and getting..."
So, in that case, take it back and be gone already!:D
