How reasonably confident are you guys on the beta this will work out?

Ya think if by jan13 beta 1 expires even after plist changes 7.0.4 will still be signed or they'll have a 7.0.5 released around same time as potentially patched b3?

Not to be a Debbie downer just covering the bases

I think if you did the plist mod, local file expiration won't be a problem since people tested in and it's working, no activation error past the Jan 14 when you change the date manually. But if Apple forced it server side, which i don't know how. Well then we are *****d.
But assuming from the past, there should'nt be a problem since there are even people who stayed on iOS 5 or iOS6 on their devices.

7.1 beta 2 by a mile, I could never see myself going back to 7.0.4 because the performance and stability difference is huge!

I am still on iOS 5.1.1 on my 4th gen iPod Touch. TBH I don't miss anything.

Change of plans. I restored fresh with 7.1b2 without the jailbreak this morning.

(Just too early for me to be tinkering with a jailbreak. I need everything to work as many times I'm away and without the ability to plug into iTunes or whatnot with a fix/restore.)

Just being a bit overly cautious, I am sure- but for peace of mind I'm out of jailbreaking until the dust settles...

I can't deny that 7.1b2 was very stable. If I'm honest I can't tell much difference between 7.0.4 and b2 in everyday activity though - it's no where near as bad as I thought it would be.

For me, I do not want to lose the jailbreak no matter what, there is every possibility that the beta will expire, even after plist changes...and...even after someone confirms that beta 1 doesn't expire. There's just no telling what apple may or may not do once the beta comes to a proper end.

Then there is also the lack of support for tweaks from developers for anyone that is on the beta as well.

It's just too risky for me, I lived with an ipad 2 on 5.0.0 for like 2 years (not even 5.0.1..) and safari crashed quite a few times so I'm sure I'll live with 7.0.4 if I have a JB to go with it :)

7.1 beta 1 because I'm not a dev but I don't feel like running 7.0 when I could be running 7.1

B2 will surely expire without the plist changes though, which requires the JB

As a registered developer I'd probably be on b3 by then. Pure speculation, but based on some rumor.

But I'm not sure if anyone knows if b3 is still subject to the JB. If you're not caring about a JB, I hear you. If you want a JB on 7.1 best to do it before the expiration if you want any chance at keeping it is all I meant.

That device is slow as hell compared to any modern device (I had one for like 3 years and anything after iOS 4 was too damn slow and memory was lacking). I loved being able to downgrade, though.

That makes complete sense and I know I have a tough final decision to make soon enough.

(I'm already missing a few of my favorite tweaks and it's only been since this morning! I feel like I'm trying to give up coffee.)

hah! i bet no where as bad as an ipod touch 2nd gen on iOS 4.1 :p

Interesting I'd have thought the opposite if anything. Care to explain your reasoning?

To be honest I want to use 7.1 on my iPad but I've been too lazy to register it, I'd rather have them both on 7.1 plus battery life and performance has been that much better on my iPhone 5

7.0.4

I was on B2 and JB'ed but then decided to revert back to 7.0.4 for few reasons.

1. It is still a beta so some apps (like Viber) have glitches.
2. Some JB tweaks and apps don't work properly or misbehave.
3. JB tweaks might not(probably) get a 7.1 update until the 7.1 JB comes out.
