Do you plan on visiting an Apple Store before confirming your purchase (e.g. pre-order, but maybe cancel or change once you've seen the real thing) or are you just going for it?

My closest Apple store is a plane ride away. I will not be able to get to a real one until May 13 in Berlin so I have trust I like it. I am sure we will have a TON of people post who HAVE seen it in the store and I also expect many will take pictures.

Nope, just going for it. SS with Black sport band. I already decided on 42mm vs 38 by trying on the print outs.

All there is left is to play two waiting games. :)

It's not a Russian bride in a crate. There is a return policy :D

Thank you. I think the ability to exchange or return a preordered watch at their local Apple Store is often overlooked by a lot of the people that are extremely worried about their purchase. I'm also pleased with the fact that store reservations can be done without actually buying it first. So if you do change your mind with what you've preordered, you can reserve the one you'd prefer and take the one you received with you to exchange for it. Obviously this must be done within the return policy window.

With the iPhone 6 scarcity at launch, you had to order online for in store pick-up, so if you wanted to exchange the one you pre-ordered, it was extremely difficult, particularly if you were using a subsidy from your carrier. Otherwise, you had to gamble the store had what you wanted by visiting it in person.

I'm very confident I will be happy with it so I will be preordering it sight unseen. That said once I have preordered it I will still try to make a reservation in store to check it out so I can get hands on with it before I get mine.

preorder, and then go to the apple store to see one in person. I know what model I am getting, but I want to see if before 4.24

I would have to drive 2 hours to get to an Apple Store. I'll be ordering online and hoping I made the right decision when it comes in. I did the paper cutouts and I'm still trying to decide if I want 38 mm or 42 mm. Hopefully everyone who post pics of their in store try on will also post wrist measurements.

I am planning on ordering and making an appointment. I'm on the fence with leather loop sizing. I am ordering smaller and if the appointment I need bigger I will preorder that one and cancel my first. Boo-ya!!!

I'm pre-ordering site unseen. I've been holding out for this item more than any other since the iPad. I won't be able to monitor my use in a few days. I will need to monitor it over a year.

I think I've watched enough youtube videos, seen enough screenshots until my eyes bleed...I'll just order it and get it in my hands as quickly as I can and return it if by some miracle it's grossly different than I thought it would be.

To answer my own question . . .

I live about 20 miles from a physical Apple Store, but I'd rather not bother. So I'm pre-ordering at 8.01am (UK time) and trusting that I'll love the thing when it arrives.

Yes I am. I thought about reserving at the store to pick up, but I think i rather be home waiting on the UPS man who will take his sweet ass time

I'm not ordering until I try it on, as I'm still torn between the 38mm and 42mm and want to make an informed decision; a paper cutout on your hand is one thing, but that doesn't factor in the dimension and height of the watch itself.

I'm still on the fence.

I need to know more about it before deciding whether to buy or not.

I'm afraid that fence sitters will only get splinters this time (as in an opening day sellout with deliveries sliding to June/July).

I don't buy the negative press and vocal naysayers who are underwhelmed with the Apple Watch. This one is going to sell better than any Gen 1 Apple device on the (1) design (puts all other smartwatches to shame), and (2) notifications/replies, regardless what cool software is down the line. So many people get tired of dragging out phones (pockets, purse, backpack, across the room) to check a mail/message/call. This ability to triage communications on a good looking watch is going to bring in the herd of buyers. All the other stuff it can (or will be able) to do is just gravy.

I've watched the videos, seen the pictures, and measured my wrist. What else do I need to know? Just its function, and until I receive the watch, there is no way to know this! So I'm all in, sight unseen:cool:...

Are you ordering sight unseen?

Yup. I've had my eyes closed since September. It's been tough, but I won't open them until I feel the FedEx guy place the box in my hand. My other senses have strengthened, so I'm sure I'll be able to smell him coming.

I'm patient and don't mind waiting until I'm ready. I've managed to survive for 51 years without a smartwatch so another few months or so until I'm sure about the Watch isn't going to do me any harm. :)

I'm ordering and I'll wait for unboxing to see it first sight.

Unboxing with sight unseen is always exciting.

I did it with the iPhone 6, it was an incredible surprise.
