before we know it, the "space grey" will be the same as the original iPad. Black bezel with a natural aluminum-colored back

Ok, I'm going to leak a photo of it. Just keep it on the DL so I don't get in trouble.

Thank you.
Now we have a good indication that the new one will be announced on the 16th I can get excited. Been very pleased with my Air but an updated one with all the rumoured new features will be a must. Small lottery win a couple of weeks ago needs to be spent. Was going to go on an iPhone 6+ but I like my Lumia so gave the 6 a miss.

How much did you win?!?!?!

Why? I long for the day the iPad could be as thin as a paper. I use my iPad Mini instead of the iPad Air ONLY because it's way lighter and I can hold it with one hand for a LONG TIME without feeling any pain. Try doing that with an iPad Air...

I can do that with an Ipad 4, I read magazines and read news on it for long periods with ease one handed an Air would be easy.

It doesn't have to get heavier or thicker just leave it as it is and concentrate on improving other things rather than trying to get thinner and lighter all the time.

I went from a 2 to the Air and have really enjoyed the lighter and thinner form factor. I will almost certainly go for the updated Air and a little lighter and thinner again will be fine. There will be other goodies on the menu no doubt.

I did say a small win. £1224 exactly, about $1900 I guess. Enough to buy an Apple device or two. A new iPad and maybe an updated Apple TV with a few bucks left for whatever comes along next!

Nice! Congrats! Just noticed you're from the UK. Yes that will afford you some new Apple toys!

Yes, it's ring fenced and cannot be spent on anything but new Apple goodies.

Was toying with buying a 6+ but as I hardly use my current cellphone, a Lumia 925 which I quite like, a new phone seemed like a complete waste of money.
Roll on the 16th!

I really like my 6+. Would totally recommend it. But a new iPad and such would totally get your mind off the 6+ :D.

I don't suppose there is hope for more interesting colours outside of the greyscale range? Not necessarily iPod colors, but, "adult" colours in the manner of Sony's Xperia Z3 mobile phones.
