So far I'm loving it. Never had any real issues with Lion but it certainly seemed slower than Snow Leopard, but upgrading to Mountain Lion was flawless and its flying like crazy on my late 2008 MBP.
Most of the features seem to come to use when iOS6 gets released so I can't wait for that. Also the notification center seems a bit pointless for me at least at this moment.

Very much so! I haven't seen a single beach ball since upgrading from Lion. Should be a good sign. *knocks on wood

My guess is that there's not enough money in that market segment for Apple. Making products to suit geeks, for example, is a niche market. I can understand and do sympathise why pro users feel increasingly left out, but I can't personally see what can be done about it given the profit motive (some people might have a better idea). The big money seems to be in working towards ubiquitous computing for regular folks – MS seems to be light years behind there.

My problem is a heavy battery drain. After 30-45 minutes I only have 66% left... Other problem is the behavior of my fan again. It's always on and my MBA13 is getting hot.

Mine isn't that bad, but noticeable nonetheless. My best guess is that someone in Cupertino is being verbally roasted about it right now, so it will likely be fixed soon.
I had a few problems of this sort with Lion (Apple fixed them so quickly, I've forgotten the specifics). But that's partly my fault for being a first day installer of every single version of OS X since 10.0 (and that was a bit of a pig until 10.1 came out).
Hold the alt-key pressed as you're moving a folder to a location where another folder with the same name exists and prepare to be amazed 😉
No, but if you press cmd+c, you have the option to either copy the file into another location by pressing cmd+v, or moving it by pressing alt+cmd+v.
Drag and drop also gives you the path in for instance text boxes such as this. Try it. Or, you just make an alias and copy the path from there.
This is a feature I found annoying at first, but I agree - it's great. OS X should have it!
I'd say I'm fairly happy with it. 10.8.0 Mountain Lion is certainly far more stable from a reliability point of view than 10.7.0 Lion was when it first came out. Memory handling is much, much improved and my old MacBook Pro 13 is actually usable now compared to how slow and prone to disk swapping it was on Lion.
If I'd have to pick some nits I'd say that the graphical sluggishness of the GUI is the most irritating issue. It's not as if it makes the computer unusable but little things like stuttery animations in Calendar (very choppy on all three of my macs compared to iCal on Lion), slightly more stuttery scrolling in Safari on script heavy sites and/or sites with lots of HTML/CSS elements, choppy animations when switching between desktops (definitely not as smooth as Lion/Snow Leopard was on my two 2010 macs, though still very fluid on my 2011 MBA 11) etc makes ML not seem quite as polished as 10.7.4. (Yet.)
I'm guessing/hoping that there will be a patch out in 10.8.1 to correct some of the stuttery/choppy GUI animations. If they fix that then I'd say it's definitely a major step forward from Lion but as it is now I can certainly still live with 10.8.0.

I upgraded to Mountain Lion from Snow Leopard. I use 13" Macbook Pro 2010. So far I'm quite pleased with the new OSX. It is a significant improvement over the SL in terms of overal functionality.
Here is what I enjoy the most: 1) integration with iCloud, 2) full screen mode, 3) notification center, 4) ability lto run the latest XCode.
However I noticed few problems (so far): 1) Safari crashes and freezes the ML -it is useless in its curent version so I switched to Chrome for now, 2) the notebook's CPU runs few degrees C warmer, 3) the battery drain is higher and the notebook does't last on single battery charge as long as it used to when I eas running Snow Leopard on it.
I think that the Mountain Lion has a great potential but it still needs some updates and bug fixes for it to really shine.

I haven't had Safari crash once, let alone freeze the computer. Bug, or incompatibility with certain sites?

I personally find it a tad underwhelming that the 200+ promised new features turn out to be just around 10 new features, with each minor tweak apparently counting as one whole feature of its own. I would expect safari to count as 1 improvement all on its own, not 7-8.
I guess that's why it is so cheap. You really get what you pay for.
That said, here are my observations.
1) Safari is no replacement for chrome. It still doesn't feel as smooth, and I find that when I pinch to zoom, the text simply expands beyond the entire screen, unlike chrome, where the page readjusts itself to fit the current borders. Maybe when ios6 brings icloud tabs to my ipad...
2) Dictation is still as unreliable as ever, and apparently, I spit a lot when I talk. 😱
3) Notification center is great, and I may just go back to using mac mail because of it. 🙂
4) My imac seems to take longer to shut down. Not really an issue though.
5) Never really used notes or reminder before ML, now seriously giving them a serious relook.
6) Imessage working fine.
7) Haven't bothered with game center, VIP mail or airplay yet (what's the point of streaming from a desktop?).

Jokes aside, I've seen a battery performance decrease in my 2010 13 Pro. Other than this, ML is excellent.
It's indeed pathetic to hear about higher temps and increased fan activity in a system that was supposed to "optimize" Lion.
In fact, I've never had any issues with Lion (apart from a disappearing mouse cursor, probably due to Cyborg RAT drivers) and I really don't understand why some people think that ML is any better. MOST of the praise goes to Safari 6 (also overhyped, since improvements are close to nil), which is NOT a ML-only thing.
Unless you are REALLY dependent on iOS and iCloud integration, ML is absolutely useless and irrelevant as an OS X update. I won't be upgrading until these major gripes are fixed (including much-weaker GPU performance with Radeon cards), and features idiotically removed (such as spinning wheels for checking email and Safari tabs) return to OS X.

It depends on your personal experiences with bugs. And your own hardware i suppose. I've yet to see one bug on my MBA 2010 or iMac 2011. I know there are bugs, but I'm personally haven't experienced any. And Lion had bugs even at 10.7.4.
System wide AirPlay (for sound) is a feature that wholly supports the whole purchase for me. In fact, I'm now streaming a tennis match in HD from my iMac to the TV! Thats not useless nor irrelevant if you ask me.

Switched from SL to ML on my 2010 11" MBA. So far I am very happy with ML. The performance is on par with SL and my MBA even seems to run a little cooler. I'm also enjoying learning about all the new added features since SL.
Haven't used Safari 6 much yet (I'm a Chrome user), so I can't say whether it is an improvement or not.

You are right. Unfortunately, apart from AirPlay Mirroring (which in any case has limited use outside the realm of video streaming) there is very little to praise in ML.

I can see uses for it in schools/companies where you can readily share whatever is on your screen without having to get out of your seat and jostle for the vga cable (same way you share via ipad). 🙂
I'm loving ML. I did an upgrade but considering doing a clean install soon.
Love the new Safari - i've changed from Chrome back to Safari. Not sure why people are saying it isn't as smooth as Chrome.
Notification center is pretty cool and the ability to tweet and Facebook from it is neat. Hope the Facebook/Twitter integration is improved so I can receive 'actual' notifications from each service.

To be honest I haven't really noticed any major difference, except that they changed the screensavers and that I had to install xcode to get svn back (which I am using for document synchronization between machines).
Gamecenter and notification center only work for shop apps (right?), so these won't be much good for me - especially games, since I use Steam almost exclusively for game purchases.
I also didn't like that they moved software upgrades to the store. I mean I see the logic behind it, but the store seems to take much longer than the old stand-alone application. Of course that might be load issues due to the ML launch, but anyway, no biggie.
On the other hand I also haven't had any issues with ML, so I am really neutral on it.
