When I went self employed last year I used an old 6s plus which did have a battery replacement 2 years prior as it was just being used as an iPod for my wife’s gym business.

It was great and could do everything but the only negative was certain websites really drained the battery. In normal use it would be dead by 2pm..

I could live with that was normally near a charger but main problem was the camera was already broken… if the camera was fine it would have been perfectly useable.

I needed an extra phone for work and used the Samsung Galaxy M14 released in 2023, but the phone freezes a lot.

So I bought a used Xs Max and the phone is still amazing. Even though it's a 2018 model, it doesn't freeze up like the Galaxy and runs all the apps I use on my main device, the iPhone 16.

The curious thing is that I don't experience any delays or performance loss compared to the iPhone 16 in the apps I use, even though the device has 4 GB of RAM (the same as the Galaxy M14).

There are days when I end up using the Xs more than my main device, since all the data is synchronized in iCloud, everything I have on one device is also on the other.

Deep Purple 14 Pro, which replaced my 6. The latter just died on me.

The only regret is I bought the 14 Pro a few months before the 15 Pro came out, so my 14 is the only remaining device with a lightning port. I quite like the iPhone Air and I might be tempted to upgrade my 14 to an Air 2.

Still happy with my 15 Pro max as well. I don't really see myself replacing it for an 18 Pro max. I may hold out and see what the 20th anniversary or whatever will offer. Definitely not interested in any foldable though.
Agreed. I've tried foldables from Samsung and Google, they are not for me. I prefer my current slab of metal and glass.

Using a 6S Plus here. iOS 15 max. This Phone used to be fast and worked everywhere. But Safari has a built in poison pill for old phones so lots of websites are broken now. Never used to be that way.
Many apps wont even install on iOS 15 now but I don’t download new apps so I don’t care.
I’ve owned much more modern iPhones and got rid of them all.
The 6S Plus was the best iPhone a-Inc ever made.
I really miss my old 6s plus! Definitely the best iPhone ever made! Perfect feel in the hand and great screen.

I put away my 17 Pro and went back to my 15 Pro to use as my daily driver this week. I just like the feel of my 15 Pro over the bulkier heavier 17 Pro. I still use my 17 Pro but only when I really want to take full advantage of it’s better camera setup. For most things my 15 Pro still does a great job doing everything I throw at it.

EDIT: I also like that my 15 Pro, like my 17 Pro can run iOS27 and it fully Apple Intelligence compatible. I have since updated my 15 Pro to Developer beta 2 for iOS 27 and so far since the update it has been running perfectly fine under the new iOS. I also like some of the enhancements provided by Apple Intelligence, especially in the Photos app.

My daily driver is a iphone SE 1st gen. As long as the couple of apps I use get updates and continue to function I will continue to use it. Being proactive I did update the battery a few years ago while apple was still replacing them. I also bought a refurbished iphone 12 mini for the day I do need to upgrade the phone.

The 12 mini and 13 mini are good iPhones. I use my 13 mini as a backup iPhone for my home security and dash camera tasks while using my 15 Pro for GPS navigation and music streaming in my car as well as my main phone.

EDIT: I have updated my Green and Midnight 256GB 13 minis to iOS27 Developer beta 2 and the new iOS has been running perfectly fine so far since the update. With my Green 13 mini I installed the initial iOS 27 Developer beta 1 and it was a noticeable improvement over the iOS26 software it was previously running. Much more responsive with apps opening up faster. With the beta 2 update I noticed even smoother operations of the iOS on my 13 mini. Under iOS 27, my 13 minis operate fast and feels much more alive then it did running iOS26. Night and day change for me.

The SE 1st Gen was an awesome little phone - I used mine for a couple of years, and upgraded to an 8+. I realized when I got the 8+ that the SE was just as fast and accurate. You're use of the SE as a daily driver does not surprise me - in was (is) a little monster.

I like it. I really just use a phone as a phone. I'm not trying surf the web or much anything else with it. I put Google Voice on it to give out that number to businesses or organizations etc.. so pretty much all the spam goes to that number, Walmart+ app for 10 cents off on gas and a local tv station weather app to check the weather/radar. That's it...and when those apps stop working I'll start using the iphone 12 mini.

Not quite that old. Still using my 15 Pro Max as my daily driver. I'll probably take a long look at the 18 after the release.
I find it hard to call the 15 Pro/15 Pro Max old, this has to be one of the most “overpowered” iPhones Apple has ever released, given that it came with Spacial Video, Ray Tracing along with USB-C etc…and then got Apple Intelligence support + Visual Intelligence…a person using a 15P/15PM is pretty much about 98% using the latest iPhone, lol. It is reminiscent of the M1 MacBooks and M1 iPad Pro.

The 15 Pro Max is going to age beautifully.

I typically cycle between my 13 series iPhones as my backup iPhone these days. This week being my Alpine Green 13 Pro. I still use my 13 mini as I really love its small compact and light frame. I have my Midnight 13 mini set up for when I go cycling to use with my AfterShoks bone conducting headphones while cycling. I also have a Green 13 mini I use as a backup between my Alpine Green 13 Pro. They are still great devices you can still use today.

📱 My iPhone X Might Be a Legend!
I bought this iPhone X in the U.S. in early 2018.
In 2020, I accidentally left it wrapped inside a bedsheet and put it through a full washing machine cycle, including the spin cycle.
When I found it, I was sure it was ruined.
I let it dry overnight and turned it on the next day. To my surprise, it worked perfectly.I even took it to the Apple Store, and they found no issues.
Now it’s 2026. After only two battery replacements, this iPhone X is still working fine.
It’s hard to let it go after all these years. ❤️
Looking forward to the iPhone 18!

What’s the oldest iPhone you’re still using? 🤔📱

Until something changes I will be using my iPhone 13 mini, or a replacement refurb 13 mini.

Acceptable changes:
a new mini iPhone is released by Apple.
iPhones themselves become obsolete

The iPhone 13 mini is the zenith, the final ascendancy of the iPhone into its most perfect form and everyone else is wrong.

I am still on the iPhone 14 Pro, battery holds decent, but it's at 89% capacity, shouldn't have to worry about about it for a while longer. I just can't justify to buy another iPhone, because the iPhone does the job currently and don't have to worry about AI or such on this thing. I mean as soon as I buy another iPhone, it will just become obsolete as soon as I do it. The 14 plus has lated this long 😛

I recently sold my 17 Pro and went back to my trusty 11 Pro as my daily driver. While I absolutely loved the camera system, USB-C and battery life of the 17P, I realized that the 11P in fact does everything I actually need my phone to do.

Today my main two iPhones are my 15 Pro and 13 mini running under iOS 27 Developer beta 2 software. Both running perfectly, smooth and fast.

iPhone 11 Pro user here with 92% battery health. Since its confirmed that it gets iOS 27, I will continue using it for another year 👍
