Taking the day off. A bit ritual, a bit because I don't function properly with a few hours less sleep a night (sleeping early doesn't do anything for me) - that's because the event is at 3am here.

I'll be in the MR IRC channel - see signature.

No need to take off the entire day for an announcement but I did quietly clear my calendar at work during that time frame lol.

while it would be nice to have the day off from work and to watch it live, I'm not wasting a vacation day on an announcement.

SAHM so it's not the same issue you all have. I got all of my nastiest landscaping work done yesterday. I've queued up my other chores and projects to start this evening and be finished by the weekend. The only thing that will be a bummer is I won't get to see the last half hour live since I have places to be as a mom and that component of my day can't be shuffled around.

I've taken the whole day off. I'll follow all the build up online, news, speculations, and probably stream a few memorable past keynotes throughout the day. It's so exciting. There is no day bigger than this for Apple fans.
Surely launch day is bigger ?. This is a close 2nd.... Where are you camping out mate..?.

Holy crap, are some of you guys actually serious? Why in the hell would you take time off work for this?
Now now.. Who are you, me, or anyone else to judge how folk spend their vacation days.. What do you mean, they could have gone to the beach or took the kids biking up in the mountains instead.. Get oouta here...
