Just curious, may come down to one’s hand size but I have used it a few times so thought I would inquire.

Thanks in advance for replying.

I have it turned on, used it a couple times. X isn't my daily driver so I haven't used it quite as much as I use it on my 8+ but it is a feature I feel is needed at times so I'm glad they didn't drop it.

Yes! Once I got the gesture down I started using it to get to the control center with one hand. It’s great. In my opinion the gesture works better and faster than the home button version of the feature. Highly recommended. In combination with the left or right hand keyboard it makes the X perfectly usable with one hand.

I never used it on my 6 Plus, and have not been using it on my X. I have small hands, but have no problem reaching the top of the screen.

I use it and it works fine. Not always as easy to use as with other iPhones, but generally works well.

I never used it on any of my previous iPhones. In fact I wasn't even sure the purpose of it was.

I have fairy large hands so it never occurred to me that it was a feature for improved reachability, that and the fact that I'm not very smart (just ask my wife ).

That being said, now that I know how to use it, I actually use it a surprising amount.

I would certainly like to see a video reaching the top of the X with small hands. I consider mine average size, not small and I cannot do it. This is still a pretty big phone regardless that it is not a Plus.

Has anyone else had trouble getting reachability to work consistently on the home screen? It works without fail in apps, but from the home screen it’s only working about half the time.

I think the dock icons interfere with it. The gesture is a VERY short throw. Aim between the icons and start the swipe as close to the bottom as you can.

I’m trying to use it more, but I’m finding it really hard to activate. It looks like the trigger point starts half way between the height of the dock icons, which is a little too low in my opinion.

Another one with small hands to using this one-handed, i use it all the time, multiple times per day pretty much every time i pick up my phone.

I think I am using reachability more often than with my earlier Plus phones for two reasons - one, the control centre is now on the top and reachability makes it easier to access the CC as I mostly use my phone single-handed and two, the gesture of swiping down on the home bar is simpler than the double tap on the home button.

Agree. Its throw is too short. It needs more like 2/3 of the icon height.

I’ve gotten very good at activating it, but I do have to think about it more deliberately than other gestures.

Overall, the X/iOS 11 combo feels a lot more like playing an instrument. Once I got the various gestures down I realized that it’s far more intuitive and useful than the home button for me. I particularly like the very Apple way of giving users lots of different ways to do basic things. The gesture workflow is adaptive enough to suit my approach to using it. Reachability is key. On the X it’s a lot more useful than it was on the 6/7/8 models and it flows right into other gestures making the phone genuinely one hand capable.

Yes, I use it all the time to open Control Centre one-handed and pair up my AirPods.

Use it all the time, begrudgingly. Not an intuitive or easy to do gesture.
