And yes, I like the highest resolution screen, the longest lasting battery, and all the juicy specs. (RAM? Mwhaaaaaaa,..)

All of which are hit and miss in testing, benchmarks, and everday use.

Oh wait....are benchmarks credible in this thread or not? You seem to flip flop whenever it doesn't benefit you.

Dude, resolution hit or miss? Battery life? Now you're just silly or drunk. Those things are not up for debate. Let it go man.

Anyone who's even remotely interested in cars will tell you that is not true. Having more horsepower and torque does not mean it is necessarily faster than another car.

That's right. I'll take the one with less hp and torque. Thank you.

It's better in some ways? Yes. It's not practical for me though.

Key thing as to why so many review sites have rated iPhone 6 higher than iPhone 6 Plus even though every review stated that the 6 Plus has better technical specifications.

iPhone 6 and plus have an identical performance when you consider cpu benchmarks are 5% higher on 6 and gpu benchmarks are 5% higher on plus. Performance being equal statistically, it comes down to size, camera and battery.

This is not rocket science guys. If you are not concerned about specs, congratulations for being so enlightened. Me, I want the phone with the highest resolution and PPI Apple has ever made. I want the one with the longest battery life. I want the one that runs all the bells and whistles.

Why does my choice threaten you so? Let it go. Be happy with your choice. Don't justify it to me. And don't tell me to go Android just because I can recognize Android phones have better specs. That's obvious. I'm not sticking my head in the sand. Despite the iPhone not having the best specs I still chose it. What else do you want from me?

Oh yes, Apple is the greatest.
iPhone is the greatest.
It's not about specs, it's the ecosystem.
It's the design.
I want to eat more brains......

Better specs mean nothing. Have a look at Anandtech's benchmarks. The new iPhones are the faster phones out there..

Thank you for so eloquently proving my point.

I'm not sure how being faster at a benchmark makes 2-3GB of RAM, quad HD screen, SD card slots and other goodies less desirable.

I personally don't if that forces me to carry around a mini-tablet that I can't easily use one handed.

Why does my choice threaten you so? Let it go.

Your choice doesn't threaten any of us, if anything based on your post here earlier in the thread it seemed like turbineseaplanes response was the one that 'threatened you' and caused you to try and justify your purchase of the 6+. Now you try and take the defensive route saying "Hey guys don't try to justify things to me" like you weren't the one that started this whole debate with the snarky response

Be happy with your choice.

We are.

Don't justify it to me.

Well don't justify your own purchase to us.

And don't tell me to go Android just because I can recognize Android phones have better specs. That's obvious. I'm not sticking my head in the sand. Despite the iPhone not having the best specs I still chose it. What else do you want from me?

As we've covered specs don't matter to myself and many others, so it really doesn't matter for me which way you go.

So True...Some marketing guru decides what specs are important, doesn't matter what platform. The spec junkies then swallow the line and BAM instant experts on which specs are important to be called the best. Nowhere is there an engineer discussing this, just marketing trolls and forum posts. Feel good in knowing you have "THE BEST"

On the other hand, some of us might want the one with the faster cpu, better graphics performance that isn't degraded by scaling, and the one that it lighter and easier to carry.

See how that works?

There is no arguing with ZBoater . He's been a Plus apologist / defender since the 12th. Severe reverse Napoleon complex.

He is no different that the people with the regular 6 trying to rationalize their phone purchase. Not sure why so many people are so touchy that others picked a different model than they did...

I'm yet to be convinced that we're not seeing a retina tax on the A8 still...

I played RealRacing 3 on my iPhone6+ and it was basically unplayable ... frame-rate around 15-20.... game after a few seconds popped up a message saying i was having poor performance.. Now this could be a bug... who knows.

On my iPhone6 and 5s it's flawless however on iOS8 both

At least the iPad air got a couple hundred extra Mhz with A7 to cope with the new retina displays.... the iPhone 6&+ both use the same CPU speed but the + has double the pixels of the normal.

Not sure whether the + will be a gaming tablet.

It's worse than that; the 6+ is actually clocked a bit lower than the 6:

http://www.gsmarena.com/apple_iphone_6_and_iphone_6_plus_benchmark_results_are_out-news-9696.php
The processor in the iPhone 6 is clocked at 1.39GHz, while the one in its bigger brother runs at 70MHz lower speed, at 1.32GHz.

Oh, and Zboater, this one's for you: ;)

There's a difference in the RAM capacity as well, however minuscule it might be. The reported RAM memory for the iPhone 6 is 987MB, while the iPhone 6 Plus makes do with 975MB

Really sorry, but re-read the above to yourself. At first (and second) read, it really sounds like overcompensation for something. Plus, you've never really said WHY you want all the higher specs... why the numbers matter more to you than the actual experience... again, that's what makes it sound like overcompensating.

Why does my choice threaten you so? Let it go. Be happy with your choice. Don't justify it to me.

Wait, what? Have you not been present for your last 3 or 4 days worth of posts? All you've been doing is making very sad posts about the iPhone 6 plus, making it painfully obvious that you are NOT extremely happy with your choice (otherwise why keep going on and on about it for a week). All you've been doing lately is trying to justify your iPhone 6 plus purchase. It's what you're doing in this very thread babbling on and on about specs

...removed the little rant about apple customers being zombies... that's just weird coming from a guy with a post history like yours (displaying obsessiveness and insecurity -- the traits of an iZombie)

Seriously, some of you really need to get their facts straight.

CPU speed is meaningless for pushing pixels, GPU is important. The 6+ will be slower than the 6 in onscreen benchmarks and when it uses it's native resolution in games, but it's not necessarily "slow" in general. We'll have to see how it will hold up. The iPad Air however isn't that bad for gaming and the 6+ is faster than this.

No, it's not. These results are false.

I know that .... i was meaning the whole thing since its a SoC, i know the gpu cores run at a lower clock rate than the cpu cores.

Like i said ... not sure whether it was a bug in that particular app ... could well have been ... didn't have a reference or means of comparison... i posted a thread asking about others experience in the apps section of the forum on the 19th but no-one replied.

No, it's not. These results are false.

Got a source, because Ars Technica's results are showing basically the same thing. They may be nominally clocked the same, but under most conditions the 6 runs at a higher clock speed, and benchmarks faster.

...and this is the problem when you give people a choice.

Humans are tribal. I don't know why we haven't grown beyond it, but it's true.

What's better?
Ford or Chevy?
Apple or Microsoft?
Christians or Muslims?
Republicans or Democrats?

The list goes on and on.

Given the choice, people will decide, then defend their opinion. It's silly. Thinking on your own is hard.

You claimed the iPhone 6 Plus is clocked lower than the iPhone 6. That's just not true and that's what I said.

CPU throttling is a different story, though very important for real world usage, I'll give you that.

Funny thing about that graph you quoted: the difference in the first minutes is something like 40Mhz. That's not much. You'll see it in benchmarks, in real world? Not so sure.

If you look at that second part however you'll see where the iPhone 6 Plus is ahead: heat dissipation.

iPhone-6-charts.016.png

For some, that will matter. For most, it won't. All in all, CPU wise, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are pretty much the same. And I don't even get why people aren't fine with that...
