Not sure about your network issues. However, I'm running a 2011 base iMac with Lion and don't have issues with network or most other things including sleep. I am using a Logitech Laser mouse with the iMac and it works flawlessly, much better than MM which just eats batteries and has no ergonomic qualities whatsoever unlike the very comfortable Logitech.

I would also take those posters that criticise W7 with a very large pinch of salt. W7 is very stable and doesn't go all flaky no matter how much software you install. A good workmen never blames his tools which leads me to believe there a lot of bad workmen on this forum.

Just out of interest you aren't switching off your Logitech are you when you put the Mac to sleep? I never switch mine off and the batteries last months - it goes to sleep of it's own accord in any event.

I think you guys are misunderstanding my position and points. I'm not saying Apple is unreliable. I'm simply saying they aren't perfect, as fanboys (which doesn't mean every mac user) claim. Anyway, I'll leave it at that.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try the Logitech center when I get home. Though if it's a driver issue and I don't have the most up to date drivers, I still don't get why it sometimes works perfectly fine, and other times it doesn't until a reboot makes it work properly again.

Anyway, is there a particular brand of mouse that are similar to logitech mouses that works better or are more compatible for Macs? I can't realistically use the trackpad nor the magic mouse for everyday use or gaming.

I got a Razer DeathAdder mouse for gaming, and it is supported for Mac as well as Windows. Works very well with my new iMac running Lion.

I also have WiFi problems, forcing me to use ethernet instead. Other than that and occasional Finder visual glitches, the machine is rock stable. I think I haven't rebooted it in two month now, still working like a charm.

Go Gadget RAZER mouse!!

Yeah it's dissapointing that everything doesn't work absolutely perfect for you. I bought a 5k ASUS gaming laptop that was complete crap (not spec wise) compared to a Dell gaming laptop I had. Sometimes you just get issues. Apple is not immune to this.

I respect that it is annoying if people chastise you for making a complaint about your technical issue.

Seriously though, go Razer if you are serious about using your mouse for gaming. Expensive but worth it.

Thanks XRay. I suspect it's not my router because my Air connects to the router just fine (in fact, only after my Air connects does my iMac's internet start working--it's weird). It's a netgear, and the iMac is connected to it via a ethernet cable (wireless is turned off). ISP is Time Warner. It is set to DHCP (it's greyed out so I can't pull down that menu to change it). This issue occurs randomly when waking from full sleep (sometimes waking from full sleep still connects to internet just fine, other times not).

Hope that info helps. What do you suggest?

Bump. This issue is still occurring randomly. Help?
