i think we now how this movie would turn out.

The article is right is one case "Another Steve Jobs movie"...

Expect to see more. :p, but i won't be there.

Watched it twice. Just can't get over Ashton kutcher. Mainly his voice. He will never outlive that 70s show and I just can't take him seriously.

Hopefully sorkins version is great and details some new products (watch or tv if they're released before the movie).

Not getting why these movies are getting made when Pirates nailed it. If you are going to do a steve jobs movie pick it up from the end of Pirates or focus on the engineers or something. We all get Jobs. What I want to see is the way apple really works.

I saw this in the theaters, I had to laugh at myself. I guess I am just a isheep that will buy anything apple related.

because this movie suuuuucked.

It wasn't perfect but it was good. It's a tech movie, there aren't that many out there which are based on true stories for us to enjoy. Take it for what it is.

I believe the film was held to a standard that was simply impossible to reach given it's circumstances. I saw the film and actually quite enjoyed it! I think many of us went into seeing the movie expecting it to truly, in two hours, encompass the legacy that Steve has left. To be "worthy" of him. Now, while even I'll admit the film did fall short of that, it's certainly worth a watch if you have the time.

No, it's not worth the time. Like another poster said, you're better off watching one of Steve's keynotes.

never seen it. probably never will. because it shows no understanding of the subject matter.

why you would celebrate the life of a man, who despised mediocrity, by putting out a mediocre hasty, unthought out film.

It was entertaining, as a movie is supposed to be.

Now what I'm actually excited about is Aaron Sorkin's upcoming Jobs film. The man that made The West Wing is doing a movie focused on 3 product launches that changed the world. THAT is something to be excited about.

To make money. Why else? Many people still don't even know how to pronounce his Last name correctly.

So the people complaining how bad it is are the ones that havent bothered to see it some just going off reviews and those that went in thinking in 2 hours a movie will encompass Steve Jobs life in massive accuracy and detaill. Its a movie not a documentary !

I watched the movie and really enjoyed it for what it was. As for Ashton, it is his first really good piece of acting and I applaud him for it.

Do yourself a favor and instead of watching this, watch the 2007 iPhone announcement. Or any other Steve Jobs keynote, for that matter. They're so good.

My favorite Jobs intro was the one for the original iPod Nano- the one where he points at the small pocket inside the main pocket of his jeans, and says, "Ever wonder what this pocket's for?" Then he reaches into the small pocket and says, "Well, now we know- because THIS is the new iPod Nano"

Of course, Apple has introduced other products that were far more profound than a redesigned iPod, but the first time I saw that I was blown away by it. I've never actually used that inner pocket because it's so small, and the idea of an iPod that holds a thousand songs being able to fit in there was just astounding...

Does anyone know when this will get a UK release?

Despite the lukewarm reviews, I want to see it and have been patiently waiting. It doesn't look like it's available on the UK iTunes store either.

Can't wait for the Sorkin version.

Yeah, because nothing would better encapsulate Steve Jobs' life than intense dialog and no discernible sense of humor.

If the choice is between this lightweight, Hollywood-ized retelling or some self-important, overwrought Aaron Sorkin thing, I'll pass.

Or maybe I'll just go re-watch The Pirates of Silicon Valley.

I thought it was good. Ashton done a good "Job" (see what I did there) impersonating Steve.

It did feel like a really long trailer but hey ho.

You have to laugh at the keyboard warriors in this thread. I starting to think the average age here is 10-14 year olds.

I don't have anything against Ashton, but in this case he & the whole movie SUCK, feels like B class video ... shame

I was mostly disappointed in this movie (rated it 4/10 on IMDb).

I didn't have anything against Kutcher, the trailers looked promising and I just wanted to see this movie. But as it progressed I started to realise how not-good it is. My main issue is with the shallow, uninteresting story. Nothing new, nothing of value. To compare, Pirates of Silicon Valley imo was infinitely better. I also realised that Kutcher, although visually a good fit for the role, isn't really a good actor. Although I remember he was OK in the Butterfly Effect, here his dramatic "acting" was straight up irritating. Maybe he should just stick to Sandler-level comedies.

To summarise - I'll wait for the Sorkin version. In the meantime will probably watch the awesome Pirates of Silicon Valley again.

While I wouldnt pay to see this movie at the cinema I definitely think its worthy of a rental.

I enjoyed the movie, it was cool to see all the goings on behind the creation of apple and i think Ashton did a great job.

Its not "AMAZING" in any way, but definately a 6.5 / 10 imo.

Aaaand no one will watch it

Cant wait for the Sorkin Jobs movie. If he started writing for Spongebob i'd probably watch it

I didn't want to watch it when it came out, and it don't want to watch it now. Do yourself a favor and instead of watching this, watch the 2007 iPhone announcement. Or any other Steve Jobs keynote, for that matter. They're so good.

Thanks but no, thanks.

Its Ashton Kutcher, you know its gonna suck. Him and quality don't go together. Accept that and you'll prolly have an easier time enjoying the movie for the piece of crap that it is.

Apple should pay me $5 to watch this dog.

Nothing could convince me to pay to see this POS. Ashton Kutcher? A Steve Jobs biography? Fucjjjing boring...

They should be paying us to download it.

So basically not a single one of you has actually watched the movie, yet can somehow declare that it sucks based on:

- The lead actor
- Some review
- Its budget, thus must be crap
- It's not accurate

Newsflash people, it's a movie. Pirates of Silicon Valley was very inaccurate, and was rife with terrible acting, low budget bits (Ballmer's bald-cap anyone?) and sensationalised events. That's what a movie is - it's entertainment. If it's mildly based on fact, that's great. But nobody expected this to be given they didn't have any inside knowledge or consultancy going on.

If you've not seen it, how the hell can you declare that it MUST be rubbish. I know we've got a lot of eccentric Apple fans here but come on, be realistic here.

Accuracy, acting quality and overall production quality wise it's certainly no worse than Pirates.

People seem to have this thing about it as well - "Oh its got Ashton Kutcher in it? That must immediately mean it's pure rubbish as I've only ever seen him in Dude where's my car, thus he can only do comedy roles".

If you don't want to watch it, that's fine - nobody's forcing you to. But to start blabbing on about how it's crap without knowing anything about it is stupidity in it's highest form.

Having watched it myself, whilst it's certainly no 'Film of the year', it's entertaining. Like POSV, it's just a movie very loosely based on Apple.
