May I know what does this 56.2mb of itunes accounts consists of?
This iTunes accounts keep sucking my data, the amount keep increasing.
Do you have iTunes Match? If so, this could be it. I'm not really sure. It's possible it has to do with syncing things over iCloud using cell data not wifi. Also try:

Settings>Cellular> ...you may need to turn off cell data for:

iBooks
iTunes Store
Podcasts

Also check here:

Settings>Music>Show All Music-off ...Music app can display and play all music on all devices on your iCloud account (including iTunes on your computer), and play it, using cell data to do so. If you are in the Music app and see an iCloud cloud icon to the right of music tracks, those tracks are not actually on your iOS device, but on another device.

To use cell data for iTunes Radio, but not for automatic updates do this:
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Music-on, Apps-on, Books-on, Updates-on, Use Cellular Data-on
then:
Settings>Cellular> and turn OFF the following:
App Store
iBooks
iTunes Store
Podcasts

You need to have Music-ON here to use iTunes Radio over cell data, you can check the usage here, but, that is cell data for the Music app including:
iTunes Radio
iTunes Match (if using),
and streaming music from other devices on your iCloud account (see above).

Using these settings allows iTunes Radio to use cell data on the road, while waiting for wifi to do automatic updates. I found this out the hard way using the iOS 7 betas.

For those of you that use Pandora, you may find that iTunes Radio uses more data. You can track it here (Settings>Cellular Data), if you "Reset Statistics" (at bottom) on the same day of your monthly bill cycle.

Lastly, if you don't want to use iTunes Radio over cell data, only wifi, but do want to keep "Show All Music" on for use over wifi, do this: Settings>iTunes & App Store>Use Cellular Data-OFF (turn Show All Music ON) & Settings>Cellular>Music-OFF. This, (along with other settings above), will allow you to play music on other devices using your iCloud account (or iTunes Match), restricting it to wifi only.

NOTE: I have it set as I suggested for iTunes Radio over cell data, but auto updates wifi only, and I have over 16MB next to iTunes Accounts, so, I'm really not sure what it is about.

This may not be *quite* what the thread is for, but it seems like it's probably a stupid question...

I'm moving from an iPod Touch 4 running 6.1.3 to an iPhone 4S (AT&T, also replacing a flip phone) whenever it arrives. I'd like to avoid as many difficulties as possible. Which is better, and why:

1) Activate the new phone, then restore from a backup of the Touch;

2) Restore from the backup, then activate the phone;

3) Don't restore my old data at all, but instead activate the phone and then put everything in the hard way

Looks like you're in the "Favorites" folder...try going back, click on blue < Favorites until there is nothing there, just black "Bookmarks" in center, then does the "Private" button show up?

Should also be there with the open pages screen...not sure how you get there on iPad... + sign?

Yes!! I got it!! But only on the + sign page.
Thank you!!
(that isnt to user friendly on Apple's part)

My preferred way is to set it up as a new iPhone, then go in manually and do a restore from backup (not the top restore, but from the backup section of iTunes). That way your firmware (iOS) is fresh, settings, apps and things added after. But, I've only gone from iPhone to iPhone, not iPod Touch to iPhone.

Thanks. I'm slightly worried mainly from reading a year or so ago of someone who restored an iPod backup onto an iPhone and then couldn't get the phone functions to work anymore. Worst comes to worst, though, I can always erase and start over, but that takes time, and I'm impatient enough already. Cut down to only checking that my shipping date still says "October" twice a day...

Are you getting a 5S or a 4S like you previously posted?

Hello.

Here is my stupid question.

Since 7.0.2 my iPhone is more buggy, but specifically, the iTunes Store just refuses to open, crashing immediately every time.

Is this a known problem?

Okay, here's a dumb issue I'm having, and a thread search didn't show anyone else asking it...

I have my 4S set to sync to iCloud, but every time it goes to do the sync, it's making me re-enter my iCloud password? This only started happening after I restored as new due to a persistent issue with the keyboard freezing, so maybe I need to manage number of authorized devices?

Here's a question for you all: Why do my custom ring/alert tones I made in Garageband on my phone work inconsistently? Some days it's all good and other days the tones are all default.

The custom tones I made in Garageband don't show up on my computer's copy of Garageband or in iTunes when doing Wi-Fi sync.

What can I do to make my snazzy custom ring/alert tones play consistently? I am running the latest iOS7 update on an iPhone 5.

Thanks.

I'm assuming you set them as your default tones, correct? In the default Sounds page in Settings, does it ever change here to default, or does it show the tone you want - but play the default?

I'm thinking you're having an issue where some of your contacts have a ringtone that was set as something other than default at some point - and now they don't match up with what you currently have set. Maybe take a look at individual contacts that you are getting calls/messages from where the tone is not correct, and see if their's is set as something else?

Perhaps Airdrop is only on the iPhone 5 and above?!

I have it on my iPhone 5 but I've turned it off because nobody in my family has an iPhone 5 (iPhone 4!) so makes the feature redundant for me!

Yes. iPhone 5 and above.

Thats kinda what I'm gathering. :( I was so excited because my school this year is giving all the students macbook Pro's so that would've been a very convenient feature to have.

Right now am in Settings>Sounds>Ringer/Text/Alert tones etc. I change them to my custom ones and see that change reflected on the Sounds menu. It shows the tone I want consistently but sometimes plays the default.

Only two people have their own and they are set to one of the other stock tones. They work fine. It's the rest of my contacts that should be using the "default" I set.

Thanks for your reply. I'm glad to get a better response than at the Apple Store.

Get ready for more disappointment - despite having the same name, AirDrop on OS X can't talk to AirDrop on iOS, and vice-versa.

ios 7 beta to public version?

I have been running the beta version for a few month and getting the updates regularly. Now that the public version is out I have not seen any new releases. I am at 7.0 is there a newer version and do I have to do anything special to get the updates now?

They probably did your method 2). ...I used to be afraid to set up my iPhone as new, afraid I would have to start over with everything, but, that's not the case. Even going from iOS 6 to 7, I set it up as a new iPhone and then went back in to do a restore backup. It takes a while to get everything on there and you may have to go through and turn sync on for some things, but, as long as you wait for it to put everything on there, it should work fine.

Just to confirm what I mean when I say "restore backup" I mean from here (circled in blue):

How do I get air drop on my iPhone 4S? I updated it with 7.0.2 and still cant find it. Any help would be great!!:D
"AirDrop is available on iPhone 5 or later, iPad (4th generation), iPad mini, and iPod touch (5th generation) and requires an iCloud account." from footnote 5 here: http://www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/

It is because AirDrop uses Bluetooth LE (built into BT4.0) to communicate and WiFi Direct hardware to transfer data. 4S does not have WiFi Direct. It is a hardware limitation. There's no workaround. No jailbreak can fix this.

AirDrop is easy to use and found in apps' share function, if they've enabled it. More here: http://www.macworld.com/article/2048737/get-to-know-ios-7-airdrop.html

(let's hope I have enough info here to cover any more searches as I've answered this question many times). AirDrop iPhone iPad iPod touch iOS 7

Well, that doesn't matter anyway, at this point,

AirDrop OS X does not work with AirDrop iOS 7.0.x

They do not work the same way. While they both use WiFi Direct to transfer data, OS X uses Bonjour to connect/communicate whereas iOS 7 uses Bluetooth LE (4.0). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AirDrop_(OS_X)

However, I imagine Apple used the same name on purpose, so, we'll likely see them work together, but, who knows when?

Anyone know how I can change my payment info within iCloud?

I have gone to iCloud.com and signed in but there are no options to manage payment info? Also, when I look at the support pages, it says I can do this from a Windows pc by downloading the iCloud Control Panel, however, I don't really want to go down this route as I am currently using a work pc and I really don't want my iPhone 5 accidentally syncing to this pc if I download the control panel!!

I am sure there used to be an option on the website somewhere but cannot find it anywhere....?!
