Assassin's Creed Mirage is now rolling out for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, as well as iPad Air and iPad Pro models equipped with the M1 chip or newer.

The game will be available in the U.S. starting tomorrow, June 6, according to the App Store. However, due to time zones, it is already available in countries like Australia, New Zealand, India, and Singapore, with Europe to follow in a few more hours.

Ubisoft previously announced that Assassin's Creed Mirage will be free to play for 90 minutes on the iPhone and iPad, and users will be able to unlock the full version with a single $49.99 in-app purchase. However, the game will be 50% off through June 20, so users will be able to unlock unlimited gameplay for $24.99 for the first two weeks.

Ubisoft says the iPhone and iPad versions of Assassin's Creed Mirage offer the same experience as the console version, but with touch-based controls.

The game's description in the App Store:
In Assassin's Creed® Mirage, you are Basim, a cunning street thief with nightmarish visions, seeking answers and justice. After an act of deadly retribution, Basim flees Baghdad and joins an ancient organization – The Hidden Ones. As he learns their mysterious rituals and powerful tenets, he will hone his unique abilities, discover his true nature, and come to understand a new Creed – one that will change his fate in ways he never could have imagined.
Assassin's Creed Mirage was first released for Xbox, PlayStation, and Windows in October.

With the A17 Pro chip, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max support hardware-accelerated ray tracing and mesh shading, allowing for improved graphics rendering in games. This hardware upgrade has allowed for more AAA games on the iPhone, such as multiple Resident Evil titles and Death Stranding Director's Cut.

I don't really game, but could someone airplay the game to a apple TV and still take advantage of raytracing from the M4? If you have a nice controller and it works seamlessly that's a sweet setup...

I want Master of Orion 4 (I know), Civilization VII with all DLC’s (again, I know 😀), a good X-Com game, perhaps Jagged Alliance, Steel Panthers, Second Front, all of the Worlds at War by SHS/Avalon Hill?), everything by Wargame Design Studio, Fields of Glory II/all DLC’s and a Civilization themed Monopoly game.

That would do me fora week or 2

They gave up on Mac gaming unfortunately, didn’t they. iPhone and iPads only!?
it is pretty ridiculous—this is Ubisoft we’re talking about though, so I’m somehow unsurprised they would start with the place they see the most potential for market penetration (very simply, as I’m sure I don’t need to say, there are loads more iOS devices on the market than macOS devices).

besides that…can’t say I’m too excited to see another AC (re)release. it’s the thirteenth damn installment in the series. sometimes it’s good to know when to kill off some IP. you couldn’t pay me to watch the Halo TV show…😂

edit: well, as @jimothyGator pointed out, AC: Shadows is coming to macOS, so…given that it’s a new game, seems like quite the ray of hope from a studio as big as them

If this is true, then that's honestly an incredible technical achievement.

So... wait. Can you use an external controller with this game on iOS or not?

Seems like it'd be kinda odd NOT to support that...

Games are meant to be played on PC / console.. not on tablets / mobile phones.

The Switch is quite literally a tablet with effectively an OEM Backbone. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th best selling games platforms of all time are all portable, much like tablets and cell phones.

Games aren't 'meant to be played' on an arbitrarily defined scope of hardware. They're meant to be played where you can, and where you want.

Gatekeeping isn't just not cool, it exposes narrow mindedness and ignorance.

Maybe he’s trying to reignite the old console gaming vs. everyone else debate. 🤦

I'm curious what happens if you install it on a A Series chip iPad. Does it just error when you try to launch it, or does it just play at lower settings? At one point Apple had a policy against apps not supporting older models which still had current iOS support.

I'd buy a $400 Apple TV M4 that can run games - but I doubt many would.

So create a protocol for zero-latency game streaming from iPhone/iPad to Apple TV.
I heard there's a "zero-latency protocol" that's made of copper that somehow connects the tv to the ipad without involving another device like an apple tv. I think they have that.
