I received my shipment from B&H today and hooked it up. I'll give my quick first impressions here and maybe a more thorough review later when I've had some time with the monitor.

Appearance
The monitor itself looks better than I worried. I definitely would have still preferred something without the 'chin', but honestly because it's black, it's not something I even notice when using the monitor.

Matte Display / Glare
I was worried about the quality of the matte coating they have. I think they call it "LuxPixel" and I really like it. I am NOT a monitor snob, so take this all with a grain of salt, but to my eyes the screen looks amazing. I don't detect any 'graininess' and whatever it's doing to diffuse the reflections is WAY better than the cheap 4K LG monitor I was using before. With that monitor, there were obvious spots where I could see the light diffused from the glare and it was pretty distracting. I don't get that at all here. I still would prefer a glossy finish, but I personally think the Asus LuxPixel is good for me!

6k vs. 5k vs. 4k scaled to 5k
I went from a 5k iMac to a Mac Studio with a cheap 4k monitor running in a scaled 5k mode. I'm getting older and my eyes aren't the best these days. I could tell the 5k scaling on the 4k monitor wasn't great, but it wasn't until I hooked up this 6k monitor and ran it at the proper scaling that I realized how bad I had it!

The 6k resolution is really great. The extra real estate is definitely noticeable and the text is still super-crisp. I'm a software engineer by trade, so good looking text is essential for me and this monitor hits all the marks!

6k 32" is definitely a sweet spot!

Stand / VESA Mount
The stand seems really sturdy, but I didn't hook it up at all. I have a VESA monitor arm and normally have my monitors a little taller than most stands support. The stand inset on this monitor is a little deeper than normal and it took some time to get the VESA mount connected to my arm. Not sure why it's inset so much, but I'm assuming they know better than I do and most monitor arms would be fine.

Monitor Settings
The Mac Display Widget software works great. While I do appreciate the convenience of the front monitor buttons, I would choose a cleaner look any day especially since the display widget seems to do just about everything I'd need the buttons on the front for.

Any questions out there?? I'd be glad to try and answer.
How is the packaging? Shipped in original box? i have a chance to buy it in japan at 17% off due to tax free plus store coupon. The box size per BH is within luggage dimensions. Also, subtracting california sales tax, the price is even better...

I've always like Asus ProArt monitors.
I love how it has buttons right on the front where they are easy to see and interact with. It's very functional design.
I have the opposite view. I had a 32" ProArt here but really disliked the look of the lower front bezel, and found the menu interface unnecessarily convoluted. That's not why I returned it though. I returned it because it had horrible backlight bleed, and text quality of a 32" 4K monitor just isn't great at my 22" viewing distance.

The colour out-of-the-box was good though. It came with a Calman calibration summary printout too.

My 30-inch Apple Cinema display that I purchased in March 2008 is finally going on the fritz.

It was good timing that these came back in stock. I ordered it directly, and it should arrive early next week.

This is for my Mac Studio. Although I enjoy the aesthetics of my cinema display, I don't believe the cheaper look will be much of a distraction in my home office.

I use a Studio Display elsewhere too, but I still have always preferred my Apple Cinema Display.

I'm hoping for a noticeable change from my old Cinema display!

To those that have received their monitors...

1. How is the backlight bleed? I'm worried being a large standard IPS panel the backlight bleed will be noticeable. Put up a fully black screen and let us know how it looks.
2. I assume you to watch HDR content you would need to manually turn HDR on and off, correct? Otherwise standard sRGB content will look oversaturated. I believe with all external non-mac monitors you need to manually turn HDR on and off, unless I am mistaken.

Thanks.

1 - With a black screen if I get up close and look at the edges from quite an extreme angle the black turns grey. I assume this is what is meant by backlight bleed. However sitting at a normal distance I cannot see any deviation in the fully black screen even when looking hard for it.

2 - HDR is easily turned on and off using System Settings/Displays/ High Dynamic Range or the Display Widget Center app for these monitors. There are quite a few colour profiles to choose from as is covered well in Tom's Hardware review of this monitor. However I have HDR on normally and have not noticed any oversaturation of content for photos/videos/movies. This could be because I am too much of an amateur re these things to know what to look for.

Thanks. Hopefully others can check for backlight bleed as more are sold. Is this in stock anywhere?

That is not backlight bleed. Backlight bleed is when you seen brighter areas of the screen at edges and corners even looking straight at it. It is usually from light seeping in from gaps at the edges. This is backlight bleed:

Is there a plastic film on the monitor or was it just covered in the styrafoam paper sheet bag? It is very matte....

My initial impressions after replacing my original 2008 30-inch Apple Cinema Display with the Asus ProArt PA32QCV 6K are just wow! I am using an M1 Mac Studio.

Even though I use an Apple Studio Display elsewhere, I've always preferred my Apple Cinema Display. However, with it going on the fritz, probably due to a power supply issue, it was time to take the plunge. The setup was easy and straightforward. I've been able to use the default settings without a problem. I ended up turning the brightness down as I wasn't used to such a bright monitor. I use this in a bright, sunlit room.

The only negative that I've noticed so far is that there is a noticeable lag when waking up from sleep or a screensaver. I've been used to the instant on with the Apple monitors. At first, I thought something was wrong, but it does take several seconds for it to wake up. I'm sure I'll get used to it over time.

Overall, I've been happy with it. I bought this directly from Asus. I noticed Best Buy currently has it at $100 cheaper shipped.

This is one of the reviews I looked at:

A comparison of the Asus 6K vs. the LG 6K vs. the Apple Pro Display XDR wake up speeds has the XDR the fastest, the LG just a hair behind at a second or so slower, and the Asus much slower.

However, it's really not a big deal. My current Huawei is also slow to wake up, but I got used to it fairly quickly.

An informative comparison with the new LG screen was posted on YouTube. This person has some other helpful reviews as well.

Fortunately, I've had zero issues with the panel I received and after seeing this, happy I did not wait for the LG panel.
