I don’t think so as the classes for and MBA wouldn’t relate.

You mean you never heard of an MBA in Graphic Design? ;)

You are young and there is nothing wrong with getting a second bachelor's degree in something you really love, whether it's graphic design, computer programming, or English literature.

I think it is a great idea at any age to do whatever it takes to get to where you want to be in life. I am 27 years old and don't have a degree, but I just started back to uni on Friday. I went for a year back in 04 to 05, and got a job and decided I didn't need the degree. Now I realize that to get to where I want to be in life, I'm going to need that degree. So, I say go for it.

FWIW I'm 29 and am going back to school (or university, for the snobs in the room) to get a graduate degree. It's not a bad idea, if it will get you where you want to be. It's a horrible idea if it's just a way to tread water and not have a job, or if it's going to cost you an arm and a leg.

In other words, if you can break into the field without the degree, then do it, skip the university degree. If not, then get it. They're expensive, but can be worth it.

Hello,
I am considering going back to school for a graphic/web design degree. This is the kind of work I enjoy. I have spent the past 5+ years of my career in sales and I am burnt out and do not wish to pursue this any longer. I have a Bachelors in Marketing, but I do not have any formal training in the area of graphic/web design. All of the positions I have applied that relate to marketing want the piece of paper of formal education of graphic design in conjunction with marketing.

My concern is that the field is oversaturated and I would be wasting my time in the education. Is there anyone in the field with any insights or offer any guidance?

Thanks

Just for your peace of mind, there's nothing wrong with returning to school/college/university when your an adult. There are many people who decide for one reason or another to return to school, sometimes it's for further education, gain some insight from other professionals in their profession, others return to change their career path...

You know, I originally studied Graphic Design for a while and one of my idols (Brody) come to our university to teach for a session with us. It was great being able to rub shoulders with someone who's so talented, for most of the time members of the faculty used to chat to him and the students too.. Hundreds of questions was asked and answered... All in all, he gave us some useful advice; students who want to be learn and understanding the concept of design should study, while those who want to be 'designers ' should be out practising the art of design in the field.

After about three months later, I decided to quit Uni. I felt I wasn't gaining anything and having a degree doesn't warrant you a job anyway. Instead I took low paying work with various companies and spend some time building my portfolio. Kept in touch with some of my professors/lecturers oand on occasions I bounce some sample about, just for advice and feedback. Since then I haven't really looked back.. My career and work has taken me around the world, allowed me to see the world whilst experiment with various materials. Yeah, occasionally I find myself in a pickle at times but my friends and good ole books has helps me out of the jam. :D:D:D

Whatever you decide to choose, I'd wish you good luck with your studies.

Great!!

Its a wonderful thing when you discover that you are not being challenged and want to pursue something, go for it. Age doesnt matter, as for career changes your marketing background should propel you into any field anything extra is icing on the cake.
