2017 and we're still rationing data.

Thank goodness John Legere seems to be changing that at last.

1 line of unlimited including hotspot and hd video is $95 a month, that's pretty close if you ask me. And even if you crank it up to 4 users at $160 on TMO, that's $160 plus $100 for hotspot\hd video, so $260.

My biggest gripe is how awful the TMO network still is, or yeah, I'd move everyone over. I have 9 lines on ATT and 3 on TMO... the TMO lines are only for intl travel. Sad the phones work better in the mountains of Thailand than they do in downtown Los Angeles.

I switched to T-Mobile from AT&T when the iPhone 6 came out and I dig 'em. I too live in LA (though admittedly, I don't go downtown much) and I find that AT&T and T-Mob are fairly similar in coverage, but T-Mob is way faster when I have a solid connection. Anectodal, so mileage may vary, but the service over wifi trick T-Mob offers for free makes up for deficiencies in their network. In my experience anyhow.

I switched to T-Mobile a couple years ago. Couldn't be happier.
They have similar unlimited plans, and none are anywhere close to $90/user

Yep same here, all 5 family plan lines. All around excellent move. The free 1hr wifi and unlimited texting on flights is just gravy.

If you have a phone with wifi calling and Band 12 support - T-Mobile is rock solid.

does T-Mobile unlimited include tethering?

seme slike 5GB for $15 extra, but unlimited 2G edge tethering-- cans someone who has it clarify?

Funny coincidence. My family is moving to T-mobile. We've been with AT&T for 17 years. I still have their unlimited data plan.

I would love to go to T-Mobile, but I hear constant horror stories from people about how bad their customer service is and how awful their coverage / speeds are.

I keep the AT&T unlimited plan because it requires absolutely no thought on my part -- I pay my bill and never worry about overages, data use, or anything else. Every time I've looked to switch, it's required considering how much data I use, wondering if I'll have enough data, etc.

Their (AT&T) new data plans are awful. We go through our 6 GB of data and then after that they lower the speeds to 2G (128Kbps). You can't do anything these days with that speed.

We'll likely switch carriers. We burned through our 6GB of data in the first week and now have 3 weeks of practically no internet.

I still have my AT&T unlimited plan. I'd switch to T mobile but their coverage is very poor in and around DC. The only reason I stick with the unlimited plan is because I do not trust AT&T to track data usage, and I used to work for them....

Glad I switched to Tmobile. Works great where I am and I have unlimited data with unlimited 3g tethering. Even 3g is good.
Cant beat 50 bucks a month

Incoming **** storm of people complaining about the price increase. Like, I get it. I absolutely do. But how is this a surprise? Apple raises the price of their Plus iPhone $29, and no one blinks an eye.

But these telecom companies raise the price on your plan, and this one they haven't offered for almost 7 years and you're surprised? I'm not defending what they're doing, and I know this is going to trigger a lot of people, but getting worked up over a trivial amount of money just isn't worth it. Especially when you knew it was coming.

And if you want to flame me, keep it civil please. There's worse things in the world than getting worked up over $5.

$60 /year though

Yep, I finally gave in and got off my old unlimited plan last week. Tough move, but my monthly bill will now be much easier to swallow.

If you don't mind me asking... how much less is it per month and what kind of plan do you have now?

I currently have 4 iPhones on my plan that are all grandfathered with unlimited data plans.

Why does anybody still use AT&T? I switched to Cricket a couple years ago, I'm still on the AT&T network, and I pay $30/month for unlimited everything. Yeah, my friends make fun of me for using Cricket, but I haven't noticed any difference in quality of service despite paying less than half of what I used to.

How are you getting unlimited everything for $30/mo with Cricket? When I check their website its $70 a month for unlimited moving from AT&T with an unlocked phone for a single line. And if I add a line for my wife that comes out to be $130 a month with the $10 group discount. Which is about $10 cheaper than my current AT&T bill but Cricket caps the data speeds at 8Mbps down where AT&T does not cap it. I have the unlimited plan with AT&T (The newer one that you have to have DirecTV service for) and a 17% discount through work on the voice service.

Usually, most dont realize how bad t-Mobile can be until they travel. In DC/Maryland its not that great in all areas. Seems VZ is best here...but they are more expensive.

LOL, you had me interested until you think "service over Wifi" is a benefit they're offering, not a solution to letting you build the network instead of them. The idea is good, but they should credit me for the number of calls and data routed over my home network when using TMO WiFi... you proved my point perfectly though, T-Mo's barking salesman makes their customers think they're getting more than they are. You can have the snake oil. I don't believe I should have to use wifi at home to fill int he gaps in tmobile's industry-acknlowledged sub-par network.

Whats your problem with people complaining about bills that always go up and never go down?

$10 raise in less then 1 year.... Time to fire up the old chat and complain.... If they can at least allow us to add tethering or add something for this extra $5, but its just to raise the price and nothing in return...

Yup just switched to TMo last month from AT&T after being on the "grandfathered" plan since 2001. Haven't looked back and my plan is $40/month cheaper - from grandfathered prices, mind you. If I were to get a similar AT&T plan today it would be $100-120 more, not including international data/texting!

It is a bit different. $29 is a one-time charge where as this will cost me an additional $20/month for the 4 iPhones on my plan.
