Erase your phone and resync your back up, OTA carrier updates are not permanently flashed in, unless it's part of the next iOS build.
A restore to 8.1 restores AT&T 18.0 unfortunately.

Whenever the carrier update is part of the iOS build release, there's nothing you can do.![]()
No. I definitely could not place or receive calls inside my home and I HAD to walk out my front door to make a call (same as my 4s). But today I made two calls from within my home, and one lasted over an hour and I walked all over the house. He definitely fixed something.Short of a carrier update (which he can't do over the phone) there's no technical explanation backing what you say. I think it's typical att placebo.

I had LTE and voice inside my home. The very day I applied the update, it went away. Now it works again.Maybe he turned up the power on your local tower. Rolling eyes.

As long as it works.Well as long as you believe that, it's what matters.
As long as it works.
I know he changed something. I don't know if he pushed something new to my phone, or if he changed provisioning on the AT&T network, but he definitely fixed my problem and there is a Big Difference. So I encourage everyone to call AT&T again and again until you get the support that I got, if you're suffering from the same problem, because the difference is definite.
I'm not an AT&T shill; read my posts earlier in this thread to see how upset I was. I'm not joking, if you have this same problem, they can fix it.

It could just as easily be that a nearby tower was malfunctioning and has now been fixed. Coincidence is as likely as anything else.
So you GUESS you know what the problem is, but you KNOW that it wasn't fixed for me?My GUESS is that the latest carrier update pushed the threshold for holding LTE lower
If you reset network settings, it will remove any carrier update.
I tried resetting network settings. Did not work. Calling AT&T worked. My Carrier Settings are still AT&T 18.0Untrue. Carrier 18.0 still there. I did a reset.

That's what "we" decided, huh?You can say it all you want, but given you're t he ONLY one to make such claims, we have to treat it as coincidence. Sorry.
shenan - Thank you for posting the problem. I've just started getting the box that wants me to change in the last few days. FWIW I have 8.1. on a 6 purchased a month or so ago.
Alameda - Thank you for posting a probable solution.
18.1 solves the issue though.... haven't had any such issues since they pushed the 18.1 carrier file.
Nah probably just a malfunctioning tower somewhere was fixed. Its just a coincidence. But as long as you think its fixed thats what matters right?
