I'm trying to check online my status, and the AT&T site keeps showing a maintenance page. They must be getting hammered.

I don't get any of this. Any that might be able to help me out?
I bought an "unlocked" iphone 3GS when it came out a year ago and transferred my old plan. My 2 year plan expires late august. Do I have to sign for two more years when I buy the iPhone 4?
Thanks a lot for any help.

alright, now who can answer this one?

I thought Steve said that we could upgrade through AT&T if our contract expires in 2010. However, I signed a 2 year in the summer of 2009, and still got the message that they could offer me an upgrade with a new 2 year and $18 upgrade fee. is this a glitch?! or something else?

Yeah just on The Consumerist that Apple wanted everyone to have the discount price available. So thank Apple and not AT&T :p

And my prior ineligibility was one of my reasons not to upgrade. Now I have to get the new iphone

Upgrade eligibility dates are probably what he meant.

Does it specifically say full discount or partial discount.

full discount = 199/299 and partial discount = 399/499

full discount = 199/299 and partial discount = 399/499

This is bullsh** I ordered my 3GS on launch day last year, and now i have to pay 599$ for the iPhone this year....

full discount = 199/299 and partial discount = 399/499

With no mention of discount, I believe.
I also got "As a valued customer, we can offer you an upgrade with a new 2-year commitment and an $18 upgrade fee" message.

I'm guessing the $18 fee still stands. Mine doesn't indicate discount amount, it just says I'm eligible. Last week it stated partial discount = 399/499.

I'm surprised, I got the message that had no date listed, but just mentioned the $18 fee, which would imply I can upgrade immediately. However I've only had a contract since last year when the 3GS came out and I have the minimum plan (450 min, nothing else). Oh well, I'll take it!

Yeah, that's the exact line I received even though my contract ends in August 2011. What does this mean?! Can I buy a new iphone for 299/399?

Thanks, as always :):)

you don't have to get the new iphone. wait until iphone 5 comes out, It'll be a more noticable/bigger upgrade than going from 3GS to iphone 4.
