I don't doubt that you may be experiencing favorable service. Outages will affect some users differently than others. The rep didnt tell me that the entire AT&T 3G network went down, but rather they were experiencing major outages due to high volumes and issues on the east coast. It still doesnt make sense to me why I would be having so many issues out on the West Coast though, but i guess the only thing to do is sit it out, or return the phone. I was given an account credit due to the issues, but hopefully its resolved soon.

My personal feeling is that the signal issues being experienced now will not be resolved until AT&T can improve their network, or correct the outages effectively. A software update for iPhone4 would probably be worthwhile as well.

so the rep didn't tell you their is a nationwide outage, but you choose to start a thread that says there is one? nice move

I win. Just had a speed test with 0 up and 0 down.

The Speed test results are highly inconsistent though.

why is that? because i just called you out for exaggeratting a situation that didn't really exist?

lol funny, don't be mad cuz you are caught in your own tall tale

I just found it comical that you ran your mouth prior to reading the subject clearly. Apparently your ability to comprehend the English language is still developing...

For starters, take a look at the post which directly succeeds yours.

don't your panties in a bunch, didn't realize it was such a sensitive subject for you bro.

IS anyones 3G signal getting better? I'm still unable to make calls while 3G is enabled, let alone use the web. It's Starting to get verrry annoying.

Mine is still great, except when I am in my condo but my signal has always been bad here given the location of the condo in the building.

I had five bars while I was walking home from work.

Again, downtown Orlando.

Wilmington, Delaware here. Same issues. Usually doesn't connect, when it does the 3G is sloooooow. I've got full bars. In fact, I bought it on launch day at 7am and I was shocked at how much faster the 3G was on this phone. It was incredible, like being on wifi. Faster than my 3GS in the same areas. Beginning around Monday-ish of this week, the 3G has fallen off a cliff. I'm going to email Gizmodo, Engadget, and Wired etc to see if we can get some public attention out of this. I've called AT&T several times but I have gotten zilch from them. I looked on youtube and this guy seems to be having the same issues as the rest of us. This issue seems widespread; I don't know why it's not getting any attention.

Apple forums and AT&T forums are filling with threads of people having the same problems with us. Some android users on AT&T are experience the same thing and have posted in the android forums. I don't know why this isn't on the front page of Gizmodo or Engadget or something.

I've been having issues for the past three days here in PA but about mid afternoon today everything went back to normal (hope I don't jinx it)! ;)

Are you guys still experiencing this problem? I am still getting outages and severe slowdowns (usually while displaying 5 bars on 3G); called AT&T and got the runaround about how there is a nationwide outage but no one knows anything, call back in a few days if there is no improvement, blah blah blah.

It seems like they are trying to drag people along until the 30-day window to return the iPhone 4 and cancel the contract renewal expires

Looks like it may have finally hit here in Orlando - for the past two days I haven't been able to get crap to load when on 3G.

As soon as I get on WiFi I get about 10-15 push notifications.
Crazy.

I have noticed since the release of the iPhone 4, that I regularly get switched to EDGE service all over the place now. I haven't really experienced EDGE connectivity in my area in quite a while, now it's a regular thing.
