I'm waiting a month or two for Apple to squash all the manufacturing bugs.

The 6 Plus is tempting but I'm worried about durability. I often stow my 4S in my rear jeans pocket and it's fine if I sit on it, but the 6 Plus, or even the 6, strikes me as a design that will bend or fold under such treatment.

This gets filed under "stuff more important than thinner". I'll take a thicker, heavier aluminum case if it means I can leave my phone in my jeans when I plop on my arse. It would also help anyone into nut huggers.

To be fair, they both need it. The whole purpose of WiFi Calling is to make up for dreadful cellular voice coverage. This gives them a "get out of jail free" card so they don't have to actually build out additional cell towers, which is what they both need to be doing instead.

Jon Brodkin over at Ars basically makes the same point I did:

Why T-Mobile needs Wi-Fi calling: its network can’t match AT&T and Verizon | Ars Technica

Except, as I traveled across parts of this great nation over the summer, I found huge swaths where there wasn't any AT&T coverage: no voice, no data, no texts, nothing. Without free WiFi and Facetime, I would've been completely incommunicado. What good is unlimited data if you can't get a signal?
