Smh they keep screwing us unlimited data people but an awesome deal for mobile share customer too. Wish it was for everyone
They aren't really screwing that group per se, simply not offering something current to those who are on something that they no longer offer. Fairly standard practice in pretty much any industry.

This.

Unlimited data folks have the best plan available at the best rate. Some are even reporting getting bumped to unlimited minutes when renewing their contracts.

We do have a great plan in terms of data, but the new features never get added to unlimited data. I know it's an old plan that they no longer offer, but that does not stop them from certain features att adds. They pick and choose, which is fine because they have the right to do that, but it still kind of stinks.

It would be nice if they offered this for Canada too.
just by the advertising T-Mobile seems to be a better option as they also give free roaming anywhere else.
Has anyone had experience with T-Mobile and is it worth it?

it's nice that their competition is driving AT&T to try this.

The reason ATT adds perks is to get people to move off of their older plans. This isn;t a bone they're throwing customers. It's a way to make more money.

I understand it's a drag, but they literally have no incentives to give you more. Hell, it took FCC suit to get ATT to actually give customers what they originally thought they were paing for... and they still reserve the right to throttle, only at a higher data pool.

Oh I totally get it. I still don't think it's right though. If you had one of the first data shared plans back in the day, you still get all the perks that new ones have. It's not because it's a dead plan, it's because like you said they want more money.

As a customer I would certainly be happy with that of course, by why would it not be right? Most things operate like this and have done so for a long time. If you get some service that is then no longer being offered and newer services are offered you typically don't get the additional perks of those new services unless you switch to them.

I think this is the only 1st Att step for now, especially after VZW roaming changes Att will probably answer next week. They couldn't answer today since it is Friday and they simple have no times for meetings, consultations and other bureaucracy. It is very rare now days somebody can take personal responsibility like John Legere.
That's why att is bleeding customers.

I do get that an old service does not get the new perks. That is fine if you are consistent which Att is not. Like I said, if the got one of the first data shared plans (which are no longer offered just like unlimited plan) you still get can the new perks. Att is only upgrading those they can make more money off. That is the issue I have.

Shared plans are still within the type of plans that they offer today, even if the specific ones might not be offered now. Not really inconsistent as much as not offering perks to those on completely outdated plans while perhaps offering it to those on more recent or compatible plans even if they aren't the exact current ones. They could not even offer it to those more recent ones, I guess that would be more "consistent" but less user friendly.

This is a nice perk for those who travel south of the border. It can be added through the website or app without needing to call.

Next up...Canada, please.

So what about minute plans? Those still get all the perks and most people have plans from years ago. I know we have a plan that dates back to early 2000, that Att tells us every time this is a really old plan that they do not offer anymore. We still get everything anyone else gets with their minute plans.

This is not about the plan being old and not offered anymore. It's just not. It's about Att making more money and offering less data to data shared customers. Before the unlimited data plan, older plans never had to be upgraded to get the latest perks or features.

Att doesn't understand, I'm not going to switch to MSV plan I'm going to port out. Roaming is an important part to me, I like my unlimited data plan, I don't abuse it, but I hate to be limited. I have t-mo, it is worse than att now, but it grows (lte12 etc) and they have #1 roaming. Att CEO just said that they are not going to chase every customer who wants to port out. Of corse, he cannot send a lawer for everyone :).
att has the worst roaming rates now.

That's why I got fed up and switched, when the 6s came out. Ditched my AT&T unlimited plan, and now I get unlimited for $40 less a month. Plus I get: unlimited Canada/Mexico roaming, lots of other global rowing options, Wifi Hotspot, etc. happy I switched.

Att thinks that Direct TV and car connections save them. I pay my top tier car service 200 dollars a year, 8.33 a month. I don't see any future of DirectTV since we have more and more stream services. Also I don't want to ruin my roof with installation.
BUT att pretend that they don't care!!!!
T-mo added last quater 2.3 million customers. We don't have increase of the population 2.3 millions for the last quater. Most of the people have just one phone. Thus Att is bleeding customers. For them is better to loose me and to add my car to their network?! Or try to sell me DirectTV in Costco :)?!

Just imaging the situation Att offers something better than t-mo , how long does it take for J. Legere to reponse? Is he going to have press release or just "telescope" us? Or may be he send a lawer to chase us!?

Just unlock your phone like i did and pop in a local Mexican sim card, a far better deal than anything AT&T can offer!

I'll never give up my unlimited data!:p

True but I still want my number to work due to work and family purpose . It would of just been nice but like u said I'm not given up my unlimited data so awh well

Supposedly Canada is coming soon, before Thanksgiving. I was advised by phone agent to check back with them again before Thanksgiving. Same deal-- you have to request it, gives you free 1G data, but the data allowance doesn't roll over. Also no charge.

I'm on old unlimited plan. It doesn't work for me. Att slow , little by little pushes me to either T-mo or now 1/2 price Sprint.
