HTC, Motorola, and Samsung are continuing to just throw specs out there and on paper it looks awesome, but it's the user experience that counts.

Apple is the only company that I know that Makes the phone (hardware) and OS (software)

Although the Nexus One and Nexus S are said to be the "google phones" One is made by HTC and one by Samsung.

Android is made to operate on a wide variety of phones, IOS...Just one!

The way the hardware and software work so smoothly is what makes the iPhone so awesome!!!

Having control over the software and hardware gives apple the biggest advantage, and is what makes there phones the best.

I was all hyped up about playing with the Nexus S when it was announced (I have an iPhone 4 BTW)

But when I saw it, I wasn't that impressed. First of all it's plastic, like many other phones. Say what you want about the so called "boring" design of the iPhone, but I have yet to see a smartphone come close to the simple design and elegance.

The super amoled is nice....But Retina is just better IMO.

Its not like the colors suck in IOS. throughout Android you see way too much black...The Retina display gives higher resolutions, higher PPI, and the 3.5 inch screen is fine for me. I honestly cannot see Apple ever increasing the screens size on the iPhone.

It's the perfect size IMO, how many people love the keyboard on there iPhone??

I owned an EVO 4G for 4 months and tried every keyboard on the market and still none came close to the iPhone KB.

Other companies keep releasing phones with specs, without putting the effort into making it work like Apple does.
Yes as a whole android phones may be outselling iPhone's. But not one phone has come close to iPhone sales, that's a fact.

Say what you want about Apple, but they are know for making devices with a good user experience, and they are doing a damn good job!

The Droid brand is only for Verizon. It's still made by Motorola though, so there's not a huge difference.

Shoot? Really?
I really prefer the Droid (Motoblur?) theme way more than

I suppose it doesn't really matter though.

I still want to wait for the announcement of the iPhone 5 before I plunge for anything. I don't care if my phone ends up a few months outdated (assuming I went with that Motorola)

This is what I'm going to do. I want to see what Apple is going to do with iOS.

Because I prefer Android. That's why.
Fair enough. Yet you hang out at MacRumors.

I take it you're not on Verizon? I agree with you though - the Droid skin looks far more appealing than the common Motoblur layer.

Palm/webOS. I agree though that a UI tailored specifically for a phone results in a much better overall experience. I can't wait to see what Palm can develop now with HP flipping the bill. WebOS needs a helluva lot of work but it has potential.

Finally, the rumored "Olympus" is announced. This Atrix looks pretty sweet. This should have been what the next Nexus phone should have been to jump start the new year. Glad AT&T is finally expanding and improving their line-up. Getting sick of the iPhone monopoly.

This is still just the beginning for dual-cores. Wait for the MWC next month. CES is just an appetizer for 2011.

Yep. No Verizon here ... just AT&T (with an iPhone).
I'm thinking I like the HTC Inspire more though, but not sure about the specs on that one.

Disregard my earlier post. This thing is pretty damn cool!!!
The resolution is 960x540 very close to the iPhone with 24 bit color, what does the ip4 have? (color-bit?)

Also finger print security. I want to see how this works, I bet it's not very accurate and would take longer to detect your finger. V. A normal passcode

But I cannot wait to check this out!

Very good hardware but the fact that it runs MotoBlur means it's a no no for me. That and i'm not yet convinced on batt life...and i wanna see what cupertino releases in summer.

As much as I love Apple and will support them in the Mac OS market at all times because I can't stand Windows, they need to step it up on the iPhone ASAP, such as the iPhone 5.

When the 4 came out, it really was in the fore front in terms of tech and competition slowly matched it. Now look at the hardware after CES 2011. you'd have to be an idiot to go out and purchase an iPhone 4 instead of waiting for any of these top notch devices.

I hope Apple steps it up or come the end of the year when LTE/4G is out, I'll be jumping ship to one of these devices. iOS is just so much better than the rest, but they continue to make small upgrades this year, the competition is truely going to own them. Look at Samung and Motorola. They've been making crap for years and now look at them... (This MOTO with the dock looks sick)

I think they will. The tech industry moves mighty fast these days, so you can expect that six months later things will start to be "out-speced".

A trouble with being an iOS fan is that there's only one new phone a year, and even then it's been just an incremental update every other time. (It'd be cool if Apple did a six month cycle between Verizon and ATT.)

A trouble with being an Android fan is that there's a new phone all the time, so making a decision as to which one to get is... well, actually not that hard as it turns out, because you either like large screens or not, you like keyboards or not, HTC Sense or Motoblur, and so forth, which usually boils down to only one or two handsets on your favorite carrier.
